Chad Ford predicts David Lee will sign with the Jazz

Chad Ford's still trying to figure out why his Tayshaun Prince-for-Carlos Boozer trade didn't happen.

Ford is a hack.

Anyone remember when the Sixers traded the #2 pick to dump Elton Brand?

I almost mentioned the Frank Hughes Countdown in my tribute to Old Jazzfanz. It's hard to believe the amount of uptimism that existed on this board after the first two months of '03/'04.

I actually like Lee's game. Well, at least I remember how well he and Deron played together in the Rookie/Sophomore game. They were an unstoppable tandem! I could easily see that being a successful pattern. Amare would be a stronger finisher but Lee is a stronger finisher than Boozer. Boozer used to be a strong finisher but injuries have made him scared.

If Lee could be had for a decent price then I wouldn't mind the Jazz obtaining him. Otherwise, it might be best to wait and come up with a more sensible scenario.

Of course, outside of having capspace to burn or a trade, I just don't see how we're going to replace Boozer's scoring picking late in the draft every year. We did well enough with Okur being healthy, but he's been burning out late in the season for the last few years. Even Millsap & Deron showed much more fatigue this year than I'm used to seeing from them.

I honestly don't think we can afford to just lose Boozer's scoring without at least a plan to replace him through a trade this year or free agency next year. Although, many fans aren't patient enough to wait a year.

No one played defense in that rookie-soph game. I do think the Jazz would like David Lee though. A bunch of other teams would probably like to have him as well.

The Jazz have to make a decision on Millsap at some point. Is he the real starter or not? Everyone assumes he is, but I think the Jazz signed him last year primarily because they see him as an asset that they didn't want to lose for nothing. We tend to overrate our own players (see Maynor and Brewer). I think we're doing the same with Millsap. David Lee could average 18/10 with the Jazz given 30 minutes a night.

I think Lee would be a superb fit for the Jazz. Good rebounder, very efficient shooter, good free-throw shooter, good hustle player. I'd love to see what he can do next to Deron.

And he's WHITE!! WOO!

...Sorry... Everyone was thinking it.
