2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Rubio-Sef and a 1st.

Favors-Sef and a 1st.

Which do we prefer? Which would the Wiz perfect? Is it enough to get it done?

It honestly makes almost 100% sense to trade Favors for Porter on both sides. They unload a contract cause they stink and they can rebuild with Favors moving forward. Wall - Beal - Favors is actually a nice starting line-up. I'm not 100% sold on Porter as I like Blake and (MAYBE) Love more but it still gives us a better outside presence

Agreed. Had to pose the question though.

What about everything else?
We obviously like Porter since we rushed to try and get him after Hayward screwed us but couldn't compete with the max deal then. Is he perfect for us? No. Is it worth the gamble? Most likely. Do I like it? Sure

I agree 100%. Favors helps them this year and next.

I think Washington might try to add in another small contract type guy to lessen their luxury bill.

If we can get STatnkantksntkssky dude, that'd be robbery for us. I do like Thabo though. I'm not sure why he didn't play last game? We could have really used him in the fourth when no one was doing anything

Here's an interesting thing. If you google "Otto Porter" right now the first thing that comes up is "Otto Porter Jazz." I realize that it's from loads of articles but it's DEFINITELY brewing.

I think the Jazz see how we do the next 5 games. If we suck and lose a bunch, we go heavy for Porter.

Looking at the other playoff teams, who could make a move for him?

Dubs? No.

Nuggets? I don’t see it happening. Too many players would have to be involved and that would mean screwing with some great mojo.

OKC-Don’t see it as possible given their contracts.

Spurs-Maybe Gasol, Bertrans and a 1st for him? I think our offer is better though as Gasol and Bertans have little to no value. I wonder if they’d do two 1sts. This scares me.

Clips-Doesn’t make sense unless they did an OP3 for Harris straight up. I think the Clips want cap room this summer and therefore wouldn’t do it.

Lakers—They want bigger fish.

Blazers-Harkless, Leonard, Collins and a 1st for OP3 and filler or something like that? I could see it.

Rockets-I don’t see it. Gordon would have to be involved and I don’t see them trading him (and filler) for OP3. I also don’t think Knight and Tucker makes sense for them.

Out of that group, I could see the Blazers and maybe the Spurs.

It's really surprising to see the interest in Conley around here. He's old, very small (DM and Conley would be smallest backcourt in the league), and paid more than nearly anyone in the league.

I think people really want a point guard who is a shooting threat. Conley is an all star talent, even though he's never made the all star game. He's also shooting 50% from the left corner. Ingles is 50% from the both corners. Korver close to 50% from left corner. By all accounts he's a great guy and I think he'd fit in immediately. Kevin Pelton was on a podcast with a Memphis writer and they both agreed that it'd be a great fit and they initially overlooked the Jazz for potential landing spots. The Memphis writer didn't think it'd take all that much to get him. He said in terms of picks, he thinks they'd just get like a heavily protected 1st rounder in addition to a good player. Pelton also noted how many expirings Utah could send that Memphis would be very interested in.

Good breakdown.

I would say the only teams who really have the shot and motivation are:

- New Orleans: if Washington really likes Randle or Mirotic, then they might go for it. Plus, their pick will be better. They are desperate for a deal.

- Blazers: they seem like the type team who would try to steal the deal from us. Would they have the pieces or even trade Collins?

- Charlotte: maybe they get desperate enough and throw some picks, Monk and other stuff at Washington

- Detroit: a team that seems desperate for anything

- Sacramento: they could take back Mahinmi but they can't send a pick until 2021

Who da **** is that?

Hmm, so Wiz fans don't seem to think Favs+Thabo+1st is enough to get it done. Can't say as I'd be willing to really go an higher than that.

They're likely not a playoff team but the Kings have been reported to have a lot of interest in Porter.
