2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

This, 100% this. I want Jrue in Utah so bad.

Problem is NO will botch this and try and stitch it together and move on without AD. Gonna pull a SA and keep most the core of the team together and try and scratch their way to the #8 seed. They should tear the thing down, but I doubt they do it right.

Would you trade AD for a package involving Gobert? That's what it would take. Imagine what Quin could do with AD. A top 10-15 player for a top 5 MVP type player.

Personally, depending on what they can get for AD, I think its the right move to try and stay competitive.

Get Tatum or Brown + Hayward and a first and try to make the playoffs.

Lakers have a bunch of quarters they can try to trade for a dollar, but I still think the best deal is with Philly (if they offer Ben... which I think they would).

I also find it weird that the stated starting asking price didn't include Ingram. Eff that if I'm NO you give me Ingram, Kuzma, Hart, Zubac and 3 firsts... If they want Ball they can ask for him, but I'd move him to a 3rd team for something... might do the same with Ingram.

I'm not so sure. They are going to try to save face of course, but making the playoffs is out of the question this year. This summer, Randle and Mirotic can and likely leave. So really, Jrue is the only valuable player on the entire roster that isn't traded for.

If NOLA is smart, they try to get the best pick possible along with a solid player or two, then trade Jrue and then tank. Between the pick(s) the acquire for AD, the pick(s) they acquire for Jrue and their own pick, they could have 2 top 7 picks plus more.

They'd have to wait until the offseason though... and are Niko and Randle going to re-sign (all money being equal of course) knowing AD out of here?

I think they should do that... I think their GM has been on the hot seat for like 5 years though... rebuilding sounds like a sure fire way to get canned.

Exactly. NOLA is done and that's why AD is leaving. Tatum isn't going to revive the team. Kuzma and Lonzo aren't either.

They need picks and lots of them. It starts with this draft. If somebody gave them a really good chance at Zion, he is the best thing that could happen to the franchise at this point. Better than Tatum. They need a ten year plan not a 3-5 year.

He kinda telegraphed his intentions when he signed with Klutch.

I have a ton of family and friends in New Orleans. Season ticket holders. They are telling me they want a complete reboot because they have been treading water for years (through Chris Paul and AD).

I know it isn't popular, but I would trade AD to New York for Lee, Knox, Nkilitina, Robinson, their 2019 1st and a future 1st. Then trade Jrue for a pick and a shorter contract. Then trade Mirotic for whatever you can get.

For NOLA, they get some young pieces, picks, tank like hell, and hope that the NY pick or their own wins the lottery.

For NY, you shelve AD hoping he can get 100% healthy. Keep KP shelved. Go hard after Kyrie or KD this summer.

I know this probably won’t happen, but I’d like to see AD go to Milwaukee. That’d be a really entertaining team, and they actually might have the assets to pull it off.

Man this is tricky... Ben Simmons being with Klutch means ain’t no way they can put his name out there without him knowing about it.

NO should ask for the world... if LA says no then go to the offseason and deal with Boston. I’d get a firm grasp from Boston right now about getting Tatum or lie and tell them we will trade him to LA. Brown is fine but Tatum is a lot better and he’s cheaper longer. Hayward’s inclusion is a solid negative so sorry Brown and picks ain’t cutting it.

He would be awesome there, but they are asset poor. Brogdon is a restricted free agent and Middleton and Bledsoe are both expirings. They can't send a 1st rounder until 2023. So unless New Orleans absolutely loves Brogdon....

If Ainge tells Demps over the phone that Tatum would be in the trade if NOLA waits until the summer, Demps might need to wait. However, so many things could happen between now and summer. What if Boston has a subpar postseason and AD comes out and says he wants LA?

If I'm Demps, I try to trade AD in the next 10 days. I ask for Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, Zubac and LA's 2019 1st rounder. As Demps, I would flat out tell LA that is what it's going to take to get him or they will wait until summer. LA can't mess around. They got to get him if they can get him.

I'm not New Orleans, but to me that's just not an intriguing offer. As of now I'd say none of those guys even look like future all-stars. Obviously if he states it's LA or bust then nobody else will offer much, but as of now I have to think some other teams could beat that offer.

I'm getting Hart and at least one more 1st... Since they don't have the premium asset I want more assets.

Also, does Jaylen Brown have more value than Ingram and Kuzma... I say no. NO really should have canned Demps prior to this move, but he may have had his power stripped a while ago.

If I'm the Jazz and NO isn't ready to deal Holiday... this is more reason to wait until the offseason to shoot our shot. Holiday is much more in line with our timeline than Conley. Worse shooter, but the defense is straight fire.

I'd make a strong offer for him now but not sure they are ready to go down to studs (they should... a few months of pain could net a big head start in the re-build and a level of certainty in the offseason planning).
