I just hope the AD situation requires teams to make secondary moves that could benefit Utah trade options.
This, 100% this. I want Jrue in Utah so bad.

Personally, depending on what they can get for AD, I think its the right move to try and stay competitive.Problem is NO will botch this and try and stitch it together and move on without AD. Gonna pull a SA and keep most the core of the team together and try and scratch their way to the #8 seed. They should tear the thing down, but I doubt they do it right.

Get Tatum or Brown + Hayward and a first and try to make the playoffs.
I'm not so sure. They are going to try to save face of course, but making the playoffs is out of the question this year. This summer, Randle and Mirotic can and likely leave. So really, Jrue is the only valuable player on the entire roster that isn't traded for.
If NOLA is smart, they try to get the best pick possible along with a solid player or two, then trade Jrue and then tank. Between the pick(s) the acquire for AD, the pick(s) they acquire for Jrue and their own pick, they could have 2 top 7 picks plus more.
They'd have to wait until the offseason though... and are Niko and Randle going to re-sign (all money being equal of course) knowing AD out of here?
Exactly. NOLA is done and that's why AD is leaving. Tatum isn't going to revive the team. Kuzma and Lonzo aren't either.
They need picks and lots of them. It starts with this draft. If somebody gave them a really good chance at Zion, he is the best thing that could happen to the franchise at this point. Better than Tatum. They need a ten year plan not a 3-5 year.
I think they should do that... I think their GM has been on the hot seat for like 5 years though... rebuilding sounds like a sure fire way to get canned.
I know this probably won’t happen, but I’d like to see AD go to Milwaukee. That’d be a really entertaining team, and they actually might have the assets to pull it off.
NO should ask for the world... if LA says no then go to the offseason and deal with Boston. I’d get a firm grasp from Boston right now about getting Tatum or lie and tell them we will trade him to LA. Brown is fine but Tatum is a lot better and he’s cheaper longer. Hayward’s inclusion is a solid negative so sorry Brown and picks ain’t cutting it.
If Ainge tells Demps over the phone that Tatum would be in the trade if NOLA waits until the summer, Demps might need to wait. However, so many things could happen between now and summer. What if Boston has a subpar postseason and AD comes out and says he wants LA?
If I'm Demps, I try to trade AD in the next 10 days. I ask for Lonzo, Kuzma, Ingram, Zubac and LA's 2019 1st rounder. As Demps, I would flat out tell LA that is what it's going to take to get him or they will wait until summer. LA can't mess around. They got to get him if they can get him.
