2019 Trade Deadline Discussion

Man, that's scary. A 31 year old with a history of ankle injuries, and about 100m owed. High risk, medium reward, given his age.

How many first round picks are enough to try to get a good PG? We've already wasted a couple for a little bunch of Hill's games and for Ricky... just sayin'... The strategy is clearly not working; stop doing the same thing if you really want a different result.
We need more athleticism, scoring AND more gravity. I'm not sure a very good 31 year, 2/66M, 6-1 PG is what Jazz need.

I'd love Conley on the Jazz but I feel we'll be outbid eventually by a team that terribly needs an elite PG, perhaps PHO or ORL.

I don't think PHX is at the point in their timeline to go after Conley. Maybe Orlando if they're desperate to make the playoffs to convince Vuc to stay. Rumor has it that Dallas is going to go all in on Vuc in free agency.

I think Detroit could get in on it too. Reggie Jackson is just awful.

Based on a tweet I read today from an unknown person the Jazz are not impressed with the prospects in the upcoming draft.

I just think they'd rather use their draft picks for other players such as Conley or Porter.

This is what the trade should be... we send our pick and Washington sends their too. $20M of Mahinmi and Howard next year for Memphis is bad, but not as bad as what Detroit would send and they get two picks in this deal... they also save money and drop further away from the tax. Wizards get a good player and a position of need and save like $10M in tax and get flexibility next year.

If Jazz are going to try the same recipe again, I would prefer them to go out there and at least try to get Jrue Holiday.

like 4 reporters have said we have interest and have tried and been shot down...

Memphis gets their rim protector.

Of course, the ideal scenario would be to go for someone playing the last season of his contract (i.e. Danny Green, Rudy Gay, JJ Redick just to name some of them...), so Jazz can sing him later going over the cap after trying to get another good player via free agency.

Orlando has to give a pick or Bamba or Isaac... plus Memphis would have to eat bad salary of Mozgov... Phoenix would have to send bad salary in Anderson and I'm sure they wouldn't throw their pick into the deal unless it was protected heavily.

I think its us Detroit or San Antonio

I'm short sighted. Love
Ricky as a person, but want someone better now. I would make a terrible gm

Conley is a great great dude too... so we don't downgrade there at all. Ricky is fantastic... I'll root for him in his next stop.

If we trade for Conley, what if we also trade for Love? We’d be hot next year....... and those contracts could kill us.

I'm team anti-Conley. The contract is hideous and a 6'1" PG won't age well in the NBA. Against a team like GS, we couldn't switch at all. There would be no one who could guard Klay, they would have him put up 30 shots on us.

Maybe that's the trick... Klay has kinda sucked this season.

*just joshing
