That last play is why I would never play Pau Gasol in a game. He was very late getting back on defense. He was running as fast as he could, but he just can’t run that fast anymore.
We are currently playing death by open three… not exactly a cogent defensive strategy and Demar appears to be on his way out of San Antonio. It seriously wouldn’t surprise me if he requested a trade in the off-season. Like Kompan said above, Demar proved what he has to prove in the Toronto game and that’s all that appears to be the end of his care for this season.
How many times has Utah ran that thing where Rudy gobert Trails down the key and they throw it to him? I guess we had no answer for it
The defense is putrid. Simply putrid. The stench of it wafted all across the western United States the past week.
We can’t be contenders without a superstar. Two All stars and below average role players can’t cut it.

I wish the Spurs had the cap space to sign Rubio this offseason. He'd be the perfect fit for leading our bench. Would also allow Derrick to start with Dejounte.

One of the biggest problems we Spurs fans have is not being accustomed to such poor defensive play. And most certainly this much losing. I have been following the Spurs for 14 years and can say first hand that I have not seen anything like this before. In these 14 years SA was always in striking distance of a championship…every year! So what do we do long term? Well we have a lot of guys out with injury and of course this is a big contributor and something fixable, but we also have some nice 1st round picks next season and i suspect PATFO will pick up some pieces that will fill in the deficiencies we currently have. In the meantime, it will continue to be painful but we still are Spurs fans and have sure been spoiled over the years. I know, my comments are 30k feet but it helps me look at the big picture and appreciate what we have had and lets me look forward to what will come.
OMG, they’re back. Like zombies. Gloom and doom. This team is imperfect; we knew that. In fact, every Spurs team in the Robinson/Duncan era was also imperfect. It’s a miracle we won five championships. If it wasn’t for Pop, and the players on those teams, we wouldn’t have done it. Let’s dump LMA, DD, and everyone else responsible for this travesty. We can start fresh, and be at the top again, in no time at all…

Trade everyone
Playing against us is easier than playing against scrimmage teams... we literally give practice-like shots to these opposing players. Its not a coincidence random players shoot light outs from 3 and all that against us. Shoulda/woulda/coulda on the trade deadline

This losing **** is getting annoying.
This defense is a complete joke. That was some pathetic crap. I think they scored damn near on every single possession. I've never seen that before.
Every single time down the court, if they miss a shot, they get the rebound or the foul, like every time. I get that Rudy's and Derrick are missing, I'm not expecting wins, but I'm expected some competency on defense.
Great defense will at least allow you to compete. If I got a nickel for every time Ricky Rubio just glided down the middle of the paint and shot an open jump shot bunny or a simple lob to Gobert, I'd be a wealthy man.
