Boozer KFAN rumor

If I'm the Jazz, I let Boozer walk and pass on the sign & trade, rather than take back players who suck from Orlando. Let them waive players, screw their cap and sign Boozer themselves, so they can have three overpaid soft veterans playing with Dwight.

The problem with your theory is that Orlando also has some really good role players that they would probably give us for Booze

Gortat, Pietrus, Carter for AK and S&T Boozer?

Darkwing Duck- For how much you criticize every other person on this board for their ideas of trades and you come back and propose this???? What a joke! Carter and his "all bout me tude" and his terrible contract who also plays NO D, I'll take a pass.

I can almost taste it...

PG - Deron (only 1/2 white)
SG - Redick
SF - Kirilenko/Hayward
PF - Lee/Kirilenko
C - Okur/Gortat/Fes

White wash here we come!

Normally, I don't like to comment on racial comments, but wow that's a real possibility!

It's not automatically bad, but I can see why people would be worried if they think we couldn't compete well enough. Plus, it wouldn't do any favors for Utah stereotypes.

Curious to know if that's happened in the last 40 years?

Also, I think Gortat is way underutilized in Orlando. Pietrus is can be a little moody but I think he's a solid player. J.J. is a little small for an already small roster. Bass would be the preference, of course. He was also underutilized in Orlando.

If we could bring back Gortat, Bass & Pietrus for Boozer & maybe a re-signed Matthews or CJ, that'd be pretty sweet!

You mean Bass, Pietrus and Redick? I would take Gortat and Redick, since both can help the Jazz and both are assets in future deals.

I would like to have any combination of

Gortat
Bass
Reddick
Pietrus

All are good role players. I dont see why the Reddick hate. He carried the Orlando team in the playoffs sometimes. And I'd love to keep Matthews regardless. Competition along positions should get the best out of all the players.

Probably said, "Hey Carlos, this is your official, "it's now o.k. to go out and talk to other GM's and however many radio stations you want to" call. Let us know when you've made your choice. Maybe we can help you out. Tell Pelinka to get us a 2nd-rounder and we'll agree to a S&T."

Cynic-much?
No. Cynic-lot.

Not a chance in hell Greg Miller will carry an $80M payroll. If Boozer is re-signed, it means AK MUST be dumped. And to do that, KOC probably has to offer some major chips to a team with cap space without taking anything back (like the Harpring/Maynor deal). I can just see it now: Boozer gets hurt 2 weeks into his $90M/6-yr deal. And at the deadline, KOC announces the Jazz have traded AK, Hayward and the Memphis pick to the New York Knicks for the rights to Landry Fields.

For sure we would have to get Gortat and Bass. Plus either Pietrus or Redick. Is this team better than last year?

Dwill
CJ/Redick
AK/Hayward
Millsap/Bass
Gortat/Fess

I think it is. Plus Okur would come back mid season. Also if we get Redick my gut tells me the Jazz let Mathews walk.

Definitely would have to be third team involved. Not going to take back as much salary as Boozer is signed for. With Johnson looking like he will re-sign with Atlanta, Memphis looking serious about keeping Gay could be some teams who have salary cap room who will still have a lot of extra money.

Hopefully the Knicks. They have a history of picking up bad contracts so maybe we can bamboozle them into taking a garbage contract or two.... Too bad Isiah still isn't their GM.

"Jazz free agent Carlos Boozer was bombarded with calls last night. The Jazz, Bulls, Heat, Nets and Knicks all made their calls. The Nets and Heat are considered the front runners for Boozer as far as teams with cap space go. But don't be surprised to see Boozer heading to a team like the Orlando Magic. The Jazz would like to re-sign Boozer. But if they can't, they'll actively pursue a sign-and-trade to get something back for Boozer.

The Magic have been offering Marcin Gortat, Brandon Bass, the expiring contract of Vince Carter to interested teams. The Jazz may also have interest in a sign-and-trade for J.J. Redick. They still need a shooter to replace Kyle Korver."

Underrated defender and playmaker. He is tough as balls and can make plays off the dribble for both himself and others. Think Hornacek.

For the morans of the board: No, I am not saying he is as good or better than Jeff "Horny" Hornacek.

Horny, always stroking the rim deep with hookers from downtown.

Seriously, has anyone here seen Gortat play? The only reason this guy doesn't get minutes is because the magic have the best center in the nba. From what I have seen, the guy will be solid once given the chance. There is a reason dallas offered him a big contract. If we got Gortat and Pietrus/Bass, we would be crazy not to do this trade.

Dwill/Price
Matthews/Miles
Pietrus/Hayward
Millsap/AK
Gortat/Okur

That looks pretty solid to me. We would have 2 good wing defenders in Matthews and Pietrus, and a legit starting center who plays defense.

I agree (with the trade, not with your starting lineup). The people that are poo-pooing this trade are being overly concerned with GreggyBoy's money.
Solid wing defense.... wow.... have we ever been able to say that?

From latest Chad Ford update.

John Hollinger:
Interestingly, Boozer attended Game 2 of the Eastern conference finals last year and was talking to Dwight Howard during stoppages in play. I imagine Jazz would want Gortat, Anderson and the trade exception from the Turkoglu deal.
