What's new

It's Kanter

its 31 august- 18 sept

if anyone itnerested, here is the link for the tourney,
https://eurobasket2011.com/en/default.asp

the groups are pretty unbalanced, for example, turkey's group is the most powerful one, with spain, lithuania, poland, great britain(luol deng and one more guy from nba maybe ben gordon) in it.

And its counter group is pretty strong too, so among these two groups there will be two semi-finalists, which means, only two of spain, lithuania, lithuania, france ,germany, serbia, italy

From other two groups, C, D only remarkable teams are Croatia, Greece, Russia and Slovenia ( im not sure if kirilenko is playing for russia)

So there are gonna be great match ups on the A-B side while C-D will be pretty easy and most probably Russia and Greece will make the semis.

A spain with Ibaka, Navarro, Rudy, Gasol bros and Rubio is certain favourites for me. The other contenders are Lithuania, Turkey, Germany, Serbia, Russia, Greece . The rest doesnt have any chance at all, including parkers France(im not sure but noah maybe eligible for france as well)

The thing which lures all nba players into this tournament is this is the one before Olympics, so it will determine who will attend to Olympics from Europe

Ibaka is with Spain? I thought he was from the Congo?

yeah but he has the nationality so he is included into the squad. That makes them pretty strong inside and compensate some defensive problems they have. It will be hard to beat Spain, we beat them in the last euro, but this time, i m not very hopeful

If both Gasols and Ibaka are playing for Spain, I don't see how they are beatable. Add in NBA talents like Rubio,Fernandez, and Carlos Navero they are easily the favorite. I'd be interested to see how Gordon and Deng do for Great Britain. Their team seems pretty weak outside of them.

I may have missed a few but more or less these are the players

i actually take my word back, i think France has a pretty strong team too, they may be better than Germany. But anyway i think Spain is gonna win it again.

I'm pretty impressed with how far European basketball has improved. I would have never believed France could put together such a decent international side, though the idea of two Pietrus' scares the hell out of me.
