Game Of Thrones

Was gona say WTF is wrong with the writers, but its trying to show the dragon queen as totally clueless. Which is a big 180 of what the earier seasons portrayed her as. In the earier seasons she was a very chamismatic charming leader who could rally the masses. Which comes off as completly idiotic right now because she was in Essos “breaking chains” for what seemed like an eternity. Had the entire city with the pyramids under her rule and then gets up and says **** this i got other **** to do such as take the stupid *** iron throne which seems way less cooler than the **** we saw in essos with the massive pyramids. By the way wtf is going on in essos? Have the slave masters picked shir back up again? Has she just been like **** this im out? Fine what ever she needs the iron throne i get it.

Anyway back to the writing about her idiotic strategies. The writers are teying really hard to showcase Her inability to formulate a sucessfull military strategy and in turn she is getting everybody murdered including her own dragon and dear friend.

Shes turning into the mad queen before our very eyes. Then there is this idea that jon snow has been bitch wipped and hes letting her control his bitch ***. Nobody wants to stand up to her and tell her that shes a total ****ing idiot and that her ways are going to get everybody killed.

I see this going one of two ways.
1. She decides by her self that her inability to lead is starting to show, that her haste has been destructive to the people she swore to protect. She might step down and ask Jon Snow to be the true heir. Then everybody rallies against the hooker who has sex with her brother and allinces become stronger than ever under Jon Snow leading the charge as the true king.

Or

2. Jon snow is going to get his balls back out of her purse and tell her this **** cant go on. Either roll with me or get rolled over, and he might have to kill her. And then he goes out and beats cercis ***.

Or i could he totally wrong and the night king comes back out of nowhere and starts to have sex with Zombie mountain.

I don't think Kit Harrington makes a particularly good Jon Snow. Euron sucks hard, but that's probably more writing than anything. The second Mountain was awful, as was the first Dario Naharis.

That's all I can think of.

Euron reminds me of Uncle Eddie from Christmas Vacation. I've never read the book so I don't get his character.

It really is about laziness. The overall story is mediocre, not great but serviceable--what kills it is laziness.

Take the ambush scene. Dany losing a dragon to an ambush could have been a tension filled scene that made up sympathize with Dany's mistake and anger. Imagine if that scene had started with most of their ships anchored after a short series of scenes showing them traveling for a week or two. Greyworm is the only one not resting/in camp, he's on a small scout ship at night. He spots the Greyjoy fleet, and runs back to tell Dany that their fleet is anchored in shallows unloading what seems to be supplies, it looks like Cersei is stocking up for a siege and if they continue the supplies it could make the siege much longer and more difficult (Since they don't want to use dragons and kill innocent people). But then you get Davos warning Dany the Greyjoys are experienced seamen and probably wouldn't make that mistake, it might be a trap--only to add "but they might not be accounting for dragons".

Then have Dany actually make a tense choice--does she strike and potentially deal a fatal blow, or does she remain cautious and risk a long, costly siege? Have Dany bet on her dragons--only to find the Greyjoys have hidden those scorpions under brush on large cliffs by the fleet. Show the audience the Euron is hard as ****, and knows he's sacrificing men to get the dragons close enough to fire on--have the dragons come down, kill a bunch of greyjoy ships and as the one is hovering, THEN have Euron take it out. (Show Dany's side isn't totally incompetent, Euron had to sacrifice a lot to get the shot) The scene actually develops some stakes then, and it makes sense in terms of framing (The audience can now feel good about why the dragons were vulnerable, instead of wondering how the **** they were being shot from miles away and/or the Dany missed a ton of ships on a clear day..) You might actually get some people debating about whether it was a good call to be bold and attack, or whether she should have been cautious...instead of everyone wondering what the **** just happened.

I'm sure the above is actually *******, I'm not a writer..So I'd have to imagine an actual writer could do so much more to add tension and stakes, and I don't imagine it would take more than 15 minutes of screen time. Instead we got this ****ing lazy ***, stupid scene. And that's the problem...so much of the show has become absolutely lazy. It truly is like schlock network TV, its ironically the exact **** Martin ran away from when he went to go write books and quit TV.

You can call me skipper if you want Gilligan...

And seriously those things rate of fire was way too high, it was like they were semi autos. Also moisture will effect the rope/string on the Ballista reducing accuracy and penetration of the bolts.
Semi-autos with high capacity magazines.

Actually a mass of ships makes approaching eaiser, especially if you approach low. They aren't going to be able to aim through a forest of masts.

I recall them being set up in a line, but I may be remembering incorrectly.

Great ****ing post. And probably the longest you’ve ever made by a mile.

The ballista in the food train was mounted had a 360-degree range of motion. Why not these?

No point can't shoot through the sails or rigging anyway, you'd never drop the sails in battle cause the boat won't be able to manoeuvre, in ancient naval warfare, ramming in the principal way to sink your enemies.

You my friend are wasted on this forum, a career as a staff writer at Juggs awaits...

Yeah it's because the tv writers can only write in tv tropes, whereas Martin can actually, you know, write. So when they left the books the quality deceased crazy fast. Too bad really.

They were in a line, the ships when the ballistas, but the rest of the ships were bunched up behind them. if she had circled around and come at them from the rear she should have just been able to toast them.
