Any chance Kanter screws us?

Coud he pull a Fran Vasquez? We all know Kanter turned down big money to come to the states but if the NBA is out the whole year could you guys see Kanter signing more than a one year deal?

Kanter won't screw us until his rookie contract is up... Then so long grandma Gail and Greggy!!!

Hypothetically, what would happen if there is no NBA season, Kanter signs a one year deal and then blows out his knee (knock on wood) and is out a year. What happens with his NBA rookie contract and how are the Jazz compensated.

Same hypothetical situation for Dwill.

I suggest this thread be locked, moved to the bottom of the general discussion thread and never be mentioned again.

No chance.

And if there's one player in the league that should hop the pond until the lockout is worked out, it's Enes "I haven't played a real game of basketball in over two years" Kanter.

And hell, if he blew out his knee in Turkey, it means there is a good chance that that could've happened here, except now the Jazz don't have to pay him if they don't want to.

I see Kanter playing nowhere else but nba for the remainder of his career.

I doubt it. Vasquez was never really committed to the NBA. Kanter has done all sorts of things to show he wants to play in it (going to high school here, attempting to go to an American college, etc.)

Is the idea the OP posted even possible? I don't remember Fran's scenario, but wasn't it much like Rubio in that he already had a deal with his European team, and instead of coming over after a few years he just never decided to come over? I guess what it comes down to is if Kanter (or the rest of the rookies) have signed, and are already under contract. If that's the case then as soon as the CBA is finalized, they can't play for another team, but I guess if they haven't signed anything or aren't under contract then there's a possibility. Although if Kanter does go that route he's gone about it the most idiotic way. Why wouldn't he have just gone back overseas and signed with a big team when he was ruled ineligible? Why did he turn down a multi million dollar deal to come play prep school ball in the states?

While we're talking about Kanter I wanted to ask some of our European friends (or anybody) who have maybe watched a few of the FIBA U-19 tourney and know about Kanter, how do you think he'd fair?

No one on those teams is better than Kanter. I won't give some hyperbolic stat line in predicting the outcome, but I believe he'd be the best on the court.

best player at the u-19 is Jonas V so far.And we all know what happened when he played against Enes before.

I know he's on the roster, but is it safe to say that he won't play on the U-20 team in the Euro Championship?
