ESPN deals that should happen

So the Jazz should trade Millsap for Jared Dudley because even though Millsap is clearly better by anyone's assessment, he's too short. And they should keep a guy that drives every team he's played on into the ground and has even less of a true position. All because Favors should be a PF no matter what his size.

My head is spinning from the logic.

The logic is we shouldn't keep Millsap for 2 years because he is better than Jefferson in terms of talent while sacrificing Favors development. That is my own opinion of course. If there was enough PF minutes to go around I would say keep Millsap. But I don't want to sacrifice Favors development just to keep Millsap. We have to ask ourselves who is more important to the team Favors or Millsap? That is my only concern here. If we keep Millsap than we sacrifice Favors. It is that simple.
And the Jazz front office doesn't get it. They all say "competition will be good for everyone". They aren't worried about developing Favors. They think they develop in practice which is totally wrong for someone who doesn't have much game experience.
I don't care if we keep Jefferson. But if we trade Jefferson and not Millsap than we hurt Favors development.
You keep wanting to get into this battle of Jefferson vs Millsap. When I am only focusing on Favors vs Millsap. Because that is more important to me. The future is more important to me. Not the next 2 years when we have no shot at contending anyways.
If we can trade Jefferson for a wing player and Millsap for a Center. Than I would do it. I don't care if we keep Jefferson. I just want playing time for Favors at the PF position. Nothing else matters to me because this Jefferson or Millsap talk is short term and is meaningless unless you care about the extra 3-5 wins per year. Which I don't because we can't contend yet.

I still disagree, but I see your point a little more clearly now. Although my head is still swimming from the 7'0"/7'7"/onlyPF comment.

I was just trying to make a point that if they have the quickness and athleticism to play the PF position they should stay there even if they are long. Just like Duncan did. Because I think that is why the Lakers, Celtics, Mavs, Spurs, Pistons won so many championships the past decade. IMO it was because of the length they had at the PF position. Center position you can find a bruiser who just does the little things that don't show up in stats. Like Chandler or Perkins or Wallace etc.

Not sure about this. When Duncan played PF they had David Robinson, a top center of all time. Lakers didn't win until Bynum was healthy to play center. Boston had three hall of famers. Detroit had the two time NBA defensive player of the year, Ben Wallace was a beast. And Tyson Chandler is a legitimate halfway skilled center, not some undersized bruiser.

There are at least 20 centers who are better defenders than Al Jefferson. You really don't know how bad he is. If its an improvement from Memo, its a pretty small one. Remember the Timber Wolves, yes the worst team in the league, GAVE us this guy for virtually nothing. Don't take my word for it though, go ask any other teams fans what they think of Al Jefferson in trade value. You would have a hard time finding a team even wanting to use a TPE on him. Cleveland certainly has shown no interest and they have no center :)

1. Name me 20 better defenders at C
2. If he was so bad, how come the Mavs pushed for him so hard?
3. You don't even think he is an improvement over Memo. HA HA. I hope you ****ers eat major crow on Big Al

Dwight Howard, Andrew Bogut, Tim Duncan, Marcin Gortat, Joel Przybilla, Tyson Chandler, Brendan Haywood, Javale McGee, Anderson Varejao, Emeka Okafor, Chuck Hayes, Chris Andersen, Nene, Marcus Camby, Andris Biedrins, DeAndre Jordan, Chris Kaman, Joel Anthony, Marc Gasol, Brook Lopez, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum, Ronny Turiaf, Derrick Favors, Kurt Thomas, Joakim Noah, Serge Ibaka, Kendrick Perkins, Nick Collison.

However many that is. Pau Gasol is a bit of a stretch, but comparable at least. And I took the liberty to include players that aren't exclusively or true Cs because Al isn't either. Which is not encouraging since he's much worse defensively as a PF.

If you call some junk players and no draft picks pushing hard, then I guess you're right on that one.

The Jazz offered the most of anyone in the NBA. You'll remember it was a TPE, a giant honky, and two unpromising draft picks.

Yep and unfortunately it appears that was too much to take that huge contract. We should have got back one of their young prospects as well, maybe elington. I like al and i hope he works hard to get better, but last season was a bit disapointing. He just is not that efficent.

Out of that list only have 5 of those guys have any offense to speak of. Thats why I like Big Al. He not only provides great offense but gives you some defense. Also out of that list the only guys I would want over Big Al are Howard and maybe Lopez and Chandler
