And I'd take Sap over Cousins (for now, not the future).

If I wasn't known as such a Kentucky homer, I'd say WOW.
You'd rather have Duncan? Why? He isn't that good anymore.
43% FG for a guy that huge just doesn't do it for me.
I wouldn't mind if Millsap starts the season as the starter, but I would hope he would be coming off the bench by the end of the season. This would obviously depend on how well he's playing and how far along Favors or even Kanter are. It's been said many times by many people, but if Millsap is our starting PF then we aren't going to be very good. Millsap's great, but going against starting PF's is a lot different then going against 2nd units.
Griffin
Gasol (PF/C)
Cousins (PF/C)
Dirk
Z-Bo
Duncan (PF/C)
Love
Aldridge
Those are all PF's in just the west that I would rather having as my starting 4 than Millsap. And Lee/Scola/Ibaka are one's I would have to think about. That's a little more than half of the teams in the west who when we get out on the floor, we're already at a disadvantage against at the PF position.
Millsap could really shine as a 6th man, but he could hurt us if he's our starting PF.
Cousins will be a center next year, they aren't resigning Dalembert obviously. Duncan has played center for a decade now. So I am seeing 6 out of 15 teams. On the East side I have Bosh, Stoudamire, and Garnett as the only ones who are clear cut better.
9 out of 30 teams have a better PF than Millsap. I suggest you take a look at the Jazz depth chart, because every other position besides PF you CAN name more than 9 players better than who we have there. With the possible exception of center just because its so weak.
You might be right here, but those other positions don't have a Derrick Favors behind them on the depth chart. And now that we're here, I might as well go all the way. Here's a list of all the players I'd rather have as our starting PF next year over Millsap. This does not include salaries, as my point is to show who we are at a disadvantage against at the 4, when Millsap starts.
Definitively better:
Garnett
Horford
Bosh
Stoudemire
Griffin
Gasol
Cousins (still a 4 for now) - although I'll give you Duncan (I was just trying to pad my stats)
Dirk
Z-Bo
Love
Aldridge
Might be better - as in help you win more games, not put up better stats: (you'll laugh at some names, but I don't care)
Brand
Boozer
Lee
Scola
West
K. Martin
Serge
heck - if Humphries could duplicate what he did last year in NJ, I'd take him.
I can't remember what the exact stats were, but didn't Locke come to the conclusion that Millsap was one of the top 10 worst defenders against his position last year. Guy's just too small to go against the starting 5's. He can score against them, but he can't defend them.
Yep, Im laughing. Your might be better list consists of power forwards on perennial 20 win teams. So no, chances are they wouldn't help you win anything. Boozer is terrible now, go ask any, yes any, Bulls fan if you don't believe me. I am even hesitant to put Kevin Love ahead of Sap because the guy forgoes all defense just to pad his rebounding position - a glorified Boozer. Humphries has his first decent year at age 28 and you dare mention him? Contract year stat padder on a 20 win team. West, Ibaka, and Scola are in the conversation. But if we are considering overall value then Scola is out because he is old as ****.

And to be honest I think we should everything we can Humphries as whichever team he's on next year is guaranteed a championship given who his significant other is.
I guess then Garnett is out too as he is even older, right? Scola is just 31, has been a starter for quite a few years unlike Millsap and had to bang in night in and night out against starting PFs/Cs. He has still managed to put up solid numbers(18 and 8 at 50% FG(career, 51.5% FG) in just 32 mins is nothing to laugh at). At WORST, he is as good as Millsap.
And five years older.
Still younger than Garnett and Duncan and some other names on that list
And still older than Millsap by half a decade.
still doesnt matter.
