News, rumors and buzz around the draft and free agency

A year from now? Maybe. Probably. I really don't know what to expect from the Don. Maybe he comes out and publicly states that he intentionally wants to take less money so we can keep guys like Royce and Joe. Or maybe he says he wants the entire amount so he can use it to help the community. I don't see him being the type who threatens leaving if we don't give every penny possible (although we would).

In a perfect world, Donovan has an interview with somebody on ESPN called "The Selection". He uses the first half of the 30 minute program talking about how his contract to name the community areas where it will help. Then at the end, he decides to take less than the max because he knows he can raise the money between what he takes and the max to address the community areas where he wants to address.

Coming off getting the 2020 NBA Finals MVP, Donovan becomes the most popular player in the sport. Utah becomes a free agent destination where players notoriously take less than max dollar to win a title and play the game the right way.
Holy ****, what fairytale universe do you live in?

You should really think hard about where and how you’re expending your powers of imagination. You’re wasting a bloody ton of time on this site.

Well that sucks... wonder if it was minimum. I’d have picked him up as a pf/c... more the bruiser type.

Maybe just maybe JaMychal Green has nothing going and takes a minimum deal and takes our starting gig. Wink, wink deal to give him a chunk of MLE the following year... it’s essentially what the rockets did with Chris Paul when he opted in.

The wink wink deal should be to sign him using whatever is left of the cap next year. It's supposed to go up another 10 million or so

That would be great, I’m not up to speed on why that might be a thing at this stage. I need to see updated numbers on what money is still on the market, but there should still be MLE money on the market for him and a few others that we’ve been talking about that are still on the board.

It has exactly zero chance of happening... lots of exceptions and lots of space still.

I can't believe WCS got just a bit more than minimum. They must've promised him a bigger payday next year or something.

Noah Vonleh to Minny sucks.

This excited for a wing who shot 41% from the field, 18% from 3 and 64% from the line. Hated Raul Neto though. Ok...
U seriously comparing Neto to RHJ? Give me a season in which Neto averaged more than 6 points or 20min a game. Or just let me know when Neto gets pickup by another NBA team not for the purpose of pleasing Rudy. Then we will talk.

Thats a stupid barometer of how good a player is but since you mentioned it, Neto averaged 5.9 PPG in 18.5 min per game in his rookie year lmfao.

Stupid? Give me just ONE example of a "GOOD" NBA player who has NEVER averaged more than 6 points OR more than 20min a game for a season even once in his WHOLE CAREER. I can name you hundreds of GOOD NBA players who aren't good shooters but can provide solid rotational minutes to championship contending teams. Come on. One. Just give me one. I'm waiting. Show me who has a STUPID barometer in judging NBA players.

Based on the timing, I can’t help but think that the Jazz were waiting out Vonleh.
