What's new

Met D-Will this weekend.

A few buddies and I are at the celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe. We were lucky enough to meet Deron Williams at a casino and get some pics with him. He was real cool. My buddies and I only got to talk to him for a few minutes but at the end of the conversation my buddy told him "I miss you in Utah bro" to which D-Will replied "You're not the only one" then he took off. I get the feeling that there's no love lost there.

To absolve myself of the typical lame jokes at Jazzfanz regarding Best Buy here's a pic of my friend with the Deron.

I miss DW too. I wish we didn't have to get rid of him to get all the young guys. I would welcome him back but I don't see how that would happen. I know DW is a FA but he isn't coming back to Utah. I wish him well except when he plays Utah.

You must have caught him on one of his good moods.

Seems like DWill has always been cool to his fans though.

I disagree. I loved the guy until I met him at a season ticket holder autograph party. After that I wanted to punch him in the face. Then I started to notice how much of a whiny jerk he was on the court. He's a great player, but i don't like the guy and I think the Jazz are going to come out better having traded him.

I know Dwill isn't a fan of constant media/fan attention, so I wonder if he actually wants to play in a huge market like Brooklyn? I'm sure he wants the huge market $$$ though.

Why did you want to punch him in the face?

Dwill is very bi-polar. When I worked at the golf course he was a member of we didnt know which Dwill was coming in. He was either a dick to everybody or he was your best friend and extremely social and making tons of jokes. He is competitve as they come. He bought a brand new $400 Driver from the club house and snapped it in half over his knee after about 5 holes.

He is tempermental to say the least. We always talked like he has the personality of hormonal women.

No offense to women or the hormones.

The Nets have no fans so that's not really an issue.

However, the media in the NY/NJ area will rip you to pieces if you're a big name player and you're not producing.

The one thing D-Will has going for him is Mike Francesa - who has a 4 hour daily talk show in the NYC area and probably has the biggest following of any one in the NYC sports media. He has a HUGE man crush on D-Will.

I would not be surprised to see Deron comes back, but probably won't be anytime soon. Wait until our young guns all grow up and we become a contender again, then he might come back in J-Kidd style.

I've met the man twice. First time, he was really nice, signed autographs for everyone and joked around a bit. The last time I met him, I also wanted to punch him in the face.

They will easily gain some fans from moving to Brooklyn.

I never met D-Will but I did play in front of Olden Polynice once at a golf course and he yelled at us to hurry up. Gotta count for something. That was before his incident with that guy. Didn't really come as a surprise.
