The reason they have makeshift weapons is that they don't bring actual weapons. As for who is initiating violence, that's often a matter of escalation, but sometimes violence is a part of the plan for the right-wingers.

Anyways I'm already sick of politics, I'm going to try to stay out of this disgusting divisive hate filled idiocy(not just here). We can point the fingers at each other all we want but until we as humans take it upon ourselves to care and love each other nothing is going to change and eventually something really bad is going to happen. I don't care to be part of it anymore.

My point was that when the public has movies about oppressed people (blacks, Muslims, Hispanics, etc.) turning the tables on their opressors, you don't see any more of an outcry than you do for The Hunt.

Eh, yes and no. I don’t think the violence level displayed reaches the level of these psychotic mass shooters. They’re not killing anyone. But they are violent. I do think they often seek out violence. And many of them are as willing to engage in violence as the proud boy groups.

But I'd say his attacks on the press, the aforementioned jailing of children, his fostering of a cult-of-personality, his consolidation of power, attacks on Muslims and Mexicans and other transgressions make him similar to Hitler. Again, our checks and balances and the age we live in make it difficult for Trump to realize his goals. If he could round up every Muslim and every Mexican using absolute power and immunity he would. He'd probably grab some of them as slaves for Mar-a-Lago.

Comparing Trump to Hitler is like comparing the idiot who ran his car into a bunch of people to bin Laden's attack on the world trade center. Same general ballpark, astronomically different scale.

The problem here is that everyone is comparing the end result of Hitler or the quickness of Germany's transformation. Trump is changing things as fast as he can but in todays age and in our country he can't achieve totalitarianism. But he's trying. Is he putting children in cages? Is he attacking any press which disagrees with him? Is he consolidating power solely to his benefit? Is he creating a cult-of-personality? Is he blaming whole groups of people? Not sure why you're so against seeing the similarities, Stoked. What about his personality makes him so different than Hitler?
