El Paso Shooting

I agree. But all you hear from trump supporters is vilifying the caravans. Not one peep about the root cause: the people giving them work. This is the only reason they are coming.
Well, that and that their home countries are destabilized in part thanks to a century of exploitation by the US government.

****ing thank you!

Did he have a valid reason for being there?
Within a few months of taking office, Hitler had banned all opposition political party and trade unions, passed the Enabling Act, formed the Gestapo, and had an official book burning. Trump's not Hitler, and Trump's not going to be Hitler. He's evil enough just being Trump.

And Trump played chicken with a insane guy with nuclear weapons. And sabotaged an environment on the precipice. And gutted our national security apparatus. And jailed children. And... and... and...

Didn't want to make a new thread, but I'm literally sick after watching this.
Something is wrong with the way police are being trained, deployed and being held accountable.

As a citizen of this nation I don't want to be subject to this type of "law enforcement." Never. I don't want anyone subject to this type of law enforcement. It's really heartbreaking thinking about this happening regularly to people. I want to trust and respect law enforcement, not fear them.

Oof

Oof!!!

Have a drink for every time you cringe:

Apparently, he was pretty ticked that he was not getting sufficient credit for his "Comforter-in-Chief" visit to Dayton and El Paso, and took to Twitter to attack no fewer then 11 people.
In El Paso, the 8 victims who had not yet been discharged from the hospital refused to meet with him:

White House aides were not thrilled with his hissy fits. Attacking Sen. Sherrod Brown and the Dayton mayor seemed especially out of whack, since they both said kind things about his visit and reception:

Senator Brown did not take Trump's inexplicable attack laying down:

Still, The Donald had a great time. His team released a campaign ad style video highlighting his visit, and set to rousing music. Weird:

Reporters had been told this trip was not for photo ops, but, here are quite a few photos that sure look like photo ops.

Well it does get worse.

One guy tells an officer he has a concealed weapon permit, the officer tells him to give him his licence, the guy starts getting his wallet out and the cop shoots him and kills him.

In another incident, a guy with mental issues is on the ground as per the officers orders and the cop shoots him and kills him.

And on and on and on. Cops are killing people who don't need to be talked to aggressively let alone shot. There is a problem with what we are asking our law enforcement to be. There is a problem with the job we are tasking them with. There is a problem with the type of people being recruited to be and the type of people that are interested in being police officers.

The entire culture of law enforcement needs to change. I'd say 2/3ds of law enforcement needs to be fired and we need to start fresh with a completely different set of priorities.

We're in a police state. We're not in a law and order state. We're in a police state.

Thank you war on drugs. Thank you very ****ing much.

Congrats on showing he is an idiotic, incompetent fool. One who should be removed from office. One who isn’t Hitler.

Something the majority of posters here, including some of your “nazis”, have been saying.

2 biggest problems imo. 1. It's too easy to become a cop. We should want the best of us, not just anyone who applies.
2. They aren't paid enough.
Raise the pay of cops (and get a bigger budget for training and whatnot) and be more selective about who becomes a cop.

There is obviously more to it but I think those 2 things fix a lot.

I do like that body cameras are becoming more and more widely used. I assume it's required now by many police. That SHOULD help
