Dude, you’re not exactly the best person on this site to be giving advice on crazy and the need to seek professional help.
 
Babe gets way too much flak on this site. I appreciate his posts and his point of view even though I rarely agree and even when they go off the rails. His stream of consciousness style and jaded sense of humor is unique and would be missed. Knowing down deep you’re fighting a lost cause can get tiring and frustrating. The individualistic, libertarian look back to the founders is a way of life that’s never coming back. We’ve been at the end of history for thirty years now, in the sense that global capitalism won out over Marxism, what remains is somehow finding limits, through our broken politics, to place in the way of our corporate overlords.

Yeah, right. You listen to people who are anything but good judges of what is sane and not, people who because they disagree with me say I am crazy, which is typical ad hominem behavior.

Furthermore, you have examples of my supposedly insane comments? I can support everything I say and people always point to that incident when I accused a poster of being an ALT. He may not have been that ALT but there was a great deal of circumstantial evidence pointing to him. The fact that he told some untruths in his denial suggested to me that it was highly possible it was him. But that's the only thing people can point to, saying I was insane, which wasn't fair in any case. Otherwise, it was always about disagreement rather than any substantiation for insanity.

Not sure of your politics but any policy that allows the permissive use of guns in modern times, which is shown to be the direct cause of the deaths of many people is simply insane. If you want to go back to survival of the fittest and no government but "might makes right," then go for it.

People accuse posters of being an alt often enough, not a big deal in and of itself. However, you left out the part where you tracked him down and called him at his work, thereby taking a silly online disagreement into seriously unbalanced territory.

Well, he was seriously harassing people. All I did was call him and ask him to stop. But he insists today that it wasn't him, though as I recall he answered to his name when I called. So, big deal, I tried to move on but people keep bringing it up, including people who were not members of the board then. This was more than 10 years ago, like 2007-2008. Even he has not let it go. So, once again, you bring it up, which had nothing to do with the insanity of gun use in our country. You think I'm insane for proposing that we have gun control? No, you're just being hostile, so go look in the mirror.

I lived through 8 years of Obama, watching him do illegal and unconstitutional stuff and giving lots of help to Iran and other interests abroad which hate the basic premises of the founders of this nation. I considered the American political process and government to be resilient enough to tolerate such diversity, and believed our system capable of resolving problems.

I have never been one to rely on guns or weapons or arguments to solve problems. I like actual discussions with people, even Marxists, if they are carrying their own water and saying what they actually think.

I don't believe in calling people "insane" or "idiots" exactly, but I use the terms when I think I'm seeing something that is not rational or emphathetic or reasoned.

In my own opinion, Thriller is the last person in this wole forum who I would call rational, balanced, emphathetic or reasonable, or who is actually doing his own thinking.

'nuff said.

The fellow he's quoting is representative a quite a few Americfan in his sentiments, ideas and beliefs.

It actually is reasonable the some folks don't want pre-emptive law enforcement generally, or rely on background checks or gun registration as public policy. Usually these ideas come with a context of personal responsibility, the right of self-defense, and law enforcement which can message criminals to think twice

If we as Americans ever decide we have a government which we can actually control without the right of the citizens to vote or in an extreme case, to remove a dictator by force of arms, our own or our military, we will be taking on more risk than either of the above.

I don't ever want armed conflict here, or anywhere. I want citizen-only voting, and registered voters with ID and proof of residence, and an accurate count of the votes.

And if I need a sheriff or a policeman, I want him within 15 minutes. Glad to pay taxes for that.

Gun control is far more popular than the crap they support. Each predictable mass shooting only provides greater evidence of the need for gun control.

Ok, define "assault weapon" then ask all those same people if they favor banning guns that fit that definition. "Assault weapon" is a loaded and inaccurate term for what I imagine would be targeted by such a ban.

An assault weapon is any weapon that could be used in an assault. Hammers, guns, cars, airplanes, rocks, weaponized dogs, birds, wire hangers, pencils, eggs, the list goes on.
