What's new

Can the Emmanuel Mudiay and Jeff Green experiments please end.

However, @MeloTheJazzKiller, how would you feel about acquiring Jeff Green?

Isn't he a power forward? Uhh, this past off-season we signed about thirty of them. We don't need another.

I can't say I know much about his game. I've seen him on a number of teams and always thought he was a decent player who can help a team. But my team needs a hell of a lot more than Jeff Green. Danny Green I'd take in an instant. I am still stunned that we didn't make a play for him this summer. Local guy...he would have come here, he would have helped a lot. That guy is borderline Hall Of Fame material. I saw him play while he was in high school. He was stunningly brilliant then...and he is now in the NBA.

I don’t think the combo of him and Green is great... it looks too much like my turn your turn type of offense.

Mudiay has produced and I think having one aggressive shot hunter is okay. Mudiay has also created for others. Jeff has not passed at all and has been worse on defense. Mudiay is at league average for shooting... Jeff is not.

Neither experiment needs to end but Mudiay has been good... so let’s not lump the two experiments together.

We need to utilize Jeff better. His usage needs to be lower. We need to use him as a roller in pnr more. We need him to take more corner threes, less threes from elsewhere. We need less iso/drives/post ups from him.

It is weird to me that fans are down on Green and Mudiay because they aren't high level backup players, when each is being paid as third stringers. Don't be down on them because the front office is asking them to do more than the market expects they can. The fact is that Mudiay and Green have been really good value and are out performing their contracts.

Mudiay has been very good. He is not a pass first guard, but he can generate a quality look every time down the floor. I actually think Mudiay and Davis can mesh well together offensively because Mudiay gets to the rim and sucks the big over to help, and that sets up Davis for offensive put backs (his best offensive weapon).

As for Green, I would like to see him used more in the PnR. He is historically a good roll man (good match with Ingles) and seems like he could be a decent pick-n-pop guy (match with Conley).

I would like to tinker with the rotation, specifically switching the rotation of Conley and Mitchell. Let the second unit focus on Conley/Green picks and Mudiay/Davis bully ball and let the Rudy, Royce, Mitchell, Bojan, Ingles lineup get some time together.

Mudiay is a flat out stud, Snyder loves him. Green is hot and cold, but that sounds a lot like, um, I don't know...Conley, Ingles, Mitchell, Bogdanovic.....etc., etc. I don't know, he's got some athletic ability and a nice stroke from three...looks pretty good to me for a guy that had open-heart surgery.

Coincidence that the offense turned to **** tonight when Mudiay was subbed in?

like i've been saying Ball doesn't move. If he doesn't hit shots he's incredibly negative because he offers nothing else. And his misses are always rebounded by the other team.

Ok, I’m updating my makeover:

Trade Exum and Bradley for Marcus Morris.
Trade Mudiay for a second rounder.
Waive NWG, Niang and Stanton Kidd.
Sign Bogut, Ryan Anderson, Shumpert, Jamal Crawford, and Jeremy Lin.

Conley / Lin / Shumpert
Mitchell / Crawford / Oni
Bogdanovic / Ingles / Green
Morris / Royce / Anderson
Gobert / Davis / Bogut

so what is his usage rate ?

You asked, "Where is Jeff Withey", But grind a fan for usage rate on Mudiay? Do you know what the usage rate stat is? You object Green and Mudiay, but ask where is Jeff Withey? So his 2.9 ppg and lack of being able to run and chew gum at the same time excited you, but your grilling a fan for usage rate on Mudiay?
