What's new

August 24: Enes Kanter new zeland match is starting now.>Turkey - New Zealand < LIVE MATCH HERE:)

I always thought Love but for some reason, I feel a bigger Tyler Hansbrough comes to mind and visually seems more accurate.

Again, not bad, but don't love it. Actually like the Love comparison better. Enes just plain LOVES contact, has GREAT rebounding instincts, thinks SCORE, and has tremendous motor/work ethic.

Agreed. But it's Hansbrough's sort of rudimentary offensive attack of the rim and jump shot that remind me of him. Love seems a little bit too polished for me in that regard and in his passing game.

I hear ya'. Problem I have with both comparisons is Tyler and Kevin are each 6'9 and Enes is 6'11 (and strong as hell). Kanter doesn't use finesse or slickness to compensate for lack of height, he IS big. I'll say this, if he got off the ground more quickly (which he doesn't), he'd be the 2nd or 3rd best center in the NBA within two years. I still say he'll be top 5 ... which is what I've predicted since pre-day1.

Agreed he's taller but he does jot play bigger offensively. Maybe rebounding but not when attacking the rim. He just doesn't have that lift you look for. Hence the sort of rudimentary, semi-awkward attack of the basket I see.

I picture this each time you use the word rudimentary.

So many wild over the top things already said about Kanter, and he hasn't played a single game that counts yet.

He went from bust/we should have taken Jonas Valanciunas, to Karl Malone/Kevin Love on a bad day.

he wasnt a worse player than now on the first day, he was just rusty, and right now he is getting better as he gets more playing time, gets more confidence and not being in rush to prove something. I wouldnt change Enes to 5 Valanciunas. Because he is phsycally very suitable for nba while valanciunas is a question mark on that sense

Well it is like watching Summer League games and evaluting the players, but the competition is better. The fact that he improved so much from his first game is a very good sign. So is his rebounding.
