Conley is a chemistry problem and we should trade him

When Clarkson paired with Mudiay, the backourt had 2 bullies and that swagger lifted the entire team. That big bodied edge and aggressive is gone with Conley in over Mudiay.
Mike has shot 65%+ from two since coming off the bench... he's getting into the paint... just missing his threes. If his threes were falling at 35% and not 19% it'd be a different story.

Last night was the only game I think Mudiay would have been a better option because Mike missed his threes and turned the ball over. He gets one Kobe game pass.

He's not a chemistry problem... if people think Mudiay is better that's fine but its not a chemistry thing.

My worry with Mike is last night looked like some of those games early in the year where he was out of sorts. He had looked pretty good first two games of the comeback and has regressed a bit. He's still very useful and some of this "he's a problem" "buy him out" is just crazy talk... do yall like throw your cars away when they out of gas?

Mike hasn't played as well as we hoped... he's not the reason JC and Joe are missing shots... that's silly talk.

My favorite is the Mike is throwing Joe off... those people ain't watching or ain't paying attention because Joe and Mike share the floor for literally like 1-2 minutes a game... I guess just his presence is throwing Joe off...

Let's be a little better here.

By the way, why did we get rid of Rubio anyway? Did we trade him, sell, him or just dump him? What would it have cost us to keep him?

I keep hearing this statement that the jazz need conley because he could get the jazz a championship. Ive heard players repeat this sentiment as well and im miffed as to why conley is the missing piece? Has conley ever won a championship? How many playoff series has he won. Maybe hes a top 10 player in the league and perrenial all star who is a game changer? Is he an elite defender who can turn a game on that end? What exactly does he bring that say mudiay didnt?
Finally!!! I'm just so sick and tired of those BS about Conley being the final piece to a championship or the key to a deeper playoff runs. Just so much for a guy who is a proven failure in playoffs.

These posts are just ****ing ridiculous. We’re blaming the Rockets loss on him? Nobody played good at all besides Mitchell. Why isn’t there a thread about how bad Ingles has been playing? He’s put on a pedestal because of his story and how well liked he is but he’s been playing horrible lately.

Conley just didn’t become a horrible player overnight. He’s still the borderline all-star player. Has he looked rough at times? Hard to get comfortable when you’re on a new team and you’ve been injured for half of the season.

This is why it would have been smart to trade for him at last years deadline so we could have already gone through this process before this season started. Conley will be fine and we’re going to really need him in the playoffs. These posts are going to be hilarious to look at in a couple of months. Everyone is acting like he got his talent sucked out of him by the Monstars.

Even DM had some tunnel vision last night... the ball didn't move and guys didn't come to play. Mike was bad last night, but he had plenty of company.

Since coming back he's 46% fg with 19% on 3s. If the three point shooting normalizes those are great/phenomenal. He's looked better... except for last night.

I do think we need to stop thinking we will see the savior we thought he'd be... but he is and will be a valuable contributor.

Take away JC's first game after Mike came back, he has played like why he's never broke through in his career. But after the trade, before Mike came back JC looked to be the assassin who sparked a team to become the hottest team in the league. I don't buy that MC doesn't affect JC.

The only reason to get rid of Conley is to be cheap. The teams highest potential involves him. If you want a ring you need Conley

We didn't just play bad last night. It was a strategic victory by the Rockets. We can play 10 games using the same lineup/gameplan and I'm sure we will still lose. We are just bad against small lineups because we suck on perimeter defense and switch, even more so than last season. DM or Conley didn't have tunnel visions. They just have trouble executing passes against smaller defenders cuz they have the perfect defending angles. We beat small lineups using lobs and low post scoring. If we play small versus small we will lose. This is when I really miss favors

Had we kept Rubio....we would probably be undefeated! He was a pass first point guard, he knew our system to a tee, got everybody involved, especially worked well with Rudy and Mitchel and even his shooting was improving. Oh, and by the way he was costing us about half of what were paying Conley! Worst trade we've ever made. Be that as it may, the best we can do now is cut, trade, or just plain dump Conley and stop playing him.
I had really hoped we'd heard the last of this drivel. More than even winning I pray Conley improves so we never have to see another Rubio post again.

Just out of curiosty, how's it going for Rubio in regards to leading Phoenix to the promised land?

They had opportunities to get him the ball and didn’t. Maybe it was part of the game plan to have the guards work off the switch. Whatever it was the ball didn’t move and their were points where we were just playing pickup. Had we shot the ball well we still would have won.

PJ Tucker is amazing. I do wonder why he’s allowed to tackle all game but he holds his position so well. I think part of the big picture problem is we seem to only be able to defend one way... funneling to Rudy and when he’s forced out it’s a layup line... same goes for when Tony is in the game... he started out okay but then almost fouled out in 10 minutes.

We got some problems... shrug

You’re easily a top-5 poster on here. Thank you for your rational thoughts.

No he isn't... There is nothing about this team that prevents a small PG from excelling.
With MC I don't think we're big enough or physical enough to compete in the playoffs in the west. Plus the whole ball dominant factor of Mike's game really isn't what we need to go all the way. We need a bigger and tougher backcourt for starters.

Jazz just need to hit their open 3s at a decent rate and not commit live ball TOs that result in fastbreaks opportunities.
