Yeah, Grizz was tanking by letting Conley handle the ball as much as he want with no regards to repercussions whatsoever. If Conley was really that good, wouldn't it hurt Grizz’s tank plan by playing him that way? Cough**Speaking of logic here***
instead, they did the complete opposite by playing Conley the most minutes in year(most since the start of grit n grind era), letting him take the most number of shots in his career, and putting the ball in his hands for the most number of times in his career(career high in usg%) and it all leads to the worst regular season finish for the grizz in years. If anything, Conley was the tank commander for them.
And the talent disparity argument doesn't work here either, since Conley last season pretty much had this same grizz roster that Ja has now, with a few minor additions of Crowder(who sucks bad this year), Grayson Allen(barely a NBA player) and the rookie Clark. They simply put the ball in Ja's hand the same way they did with Conley last season and now they are competing for a playoffs spot instead of tanking.
