What's new

The official "let's impeach Trump" thread

Really? I get that Dems like Bernie. So much so that he might win the nomination. Which scares me. I want to win the general. That’s the issue.

I think Bernie is by far the worst candidate remaining. Which is saying something, because all fo these candidates have electability issues. Pete is gay. That’s still a major issue for many Americans. Especially where we need to win. Warren has likability issues (and reminds many of Hillary). Biden has gaffe issues and is old. His campaign is the worst managed of all. Klobuchar is the best candidate remaining but for whatever reason isn’t gaining support.

I think he turns off nearly every coalition voter we won in 2018. Women, suburbs, minorities, etc. He does well with the die hard leftists with Che posters in the dorms. But I see him as being the least electable candidate out there. Especially when you consider the demographics of the midwestern swing states that we need to win.

You think white working class men and suburban women are going to vote for a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist with Fox News and Trump attacking him nonstop? From his recent heart attack to his past comments about Venezuela and Cuba to the label of socialism? Just sooooo unelectable.

I understand Pete's father is the leading proponent of Gramscian Progressive (Marxist) philosophy, which essentially boils down to "Lie like hell to the stupid people and make them communists before telling them that's what it is...... and then ship them all off to the extermination camps before we have to keep feeding them when all the marbles in our bag."

A real humanitarian, really. Just the kind of man Thriller wants to be, when he grows up.

All the other Dem candidates are just trying to corner some little niche in the general plan, with one damn lie or another.

A few days old. Not sure it`s appropriate for me to comment as a Canadian, but I can`t believe this is a real human being. Get him out please.

For what it's worth Bernie is my preferred candidate to lay my cards on the table. May I burn in democratic socialist hell.

They'll throw the word socialist out at all of them. They've done it to every Dem candidate for decades. Maybe it wouldn't stick to Bloomberg because he's basically a Republican.

Voters will believe it for Warren and Sanders. It won't resonate for the others.

Is the country better off with Sanders or Trump?

Regrettable decision, but I'll vote for Sanders, with the belief that his big spending plans never get traction.
It's not a binary choice, though. The two major parties just want you to think that.

I was tempted to see who I was ignoring. Typically when I see a lot of people getting frustrated like this, it’s Jazzfresy or Babe. They are the two most poorly informed/craziest posters in these types of threads. Glad you eliminated any doubt.
Why do you have such an all-consuming desire to constantly brag about who you're ignoring (especially since you clearly read their posts anyway)?

Fox News watchers are never going to vote for a Dem whether they are branded socialist or not.
This is true, but look it's not like Bernie Sanders is a relatively unknown candidate. He had a high profile run four years ago, has been one of the frontrunners in this one, and his head to head numbers against Trump haven't dipped at all. The thing about Sanders is the more exposure he gets, the more people like him. His message is a popular one, and he's great at giving it. I just don't buy that that is somehow going to turn into a fatal flaw six months from now.

Meanwhile my gf's parents have been staying with us for a while now. Huge Trump fans. They watch Fox News religiously for at least 3 hours a day. Her dad got in an argument with me last night about why schools should say prayers like when he was a kid (he's 78.) I voiced my opinion on how terrible of an idea that was and for separation of church and state. He said 29 kids and their parents would be fine with it and the 30th kid has to ruin it for everyone. He then goes on to say that's why there are more murders in the world today than ever before. I told him that's not at all true and he says whatever my sources are, they're wrong.

Wish they'd go back to Florida already. Only a few more weeks of this ****. Lol

Damn, that's rough.
Strange that anyone watches 3 hours of any news per day.
Who the **** has time for that ****. And even if you have the time, why would you choose to watch the ****ing news with your time? Sad lives some people live I guess

his numbers in swing states are inferior to other options

Inferior to Biden only, and it's close. Sanders out polls both Warren and Buttigieg in swing states vs Trump, both of whom are to his right, quite far in Buttigieg's case.
