Praise for Mudiay

I’d like Mudiay to take some minutes off Royce .

Royce always gets the toughest match ups and lately I think his petrol tank is on empty , we have Mudiay there to give him some rest .
Royce plays as much as he does because he’s the only one on this team that does what he does. In other words, Mudiay isn’t fit to take minutes from him, even as a courtesy to Royce.

I thought Conley looked good first game back. Mudiay is our swiss army knife, can play three positions, so he'll get his minutes.

I just don't see it. Conley only played 15 minutes last night and Mudiay still didn't get on the floor until garbage time. Pretty soon Conley will be back to 30 minutes and there will be even less playing time to go around. Barring injury I think Mudiay's out of the rotation.

I could see Mudiay supplant Niang if/when the Jazz go 3-guard with Royce playing the 4.

Yeah, I got that. Clarkson is better than Mudiay as a scorer, and Mitchell and Conley are better as creators, so it doesn't really work out for Mudiay.
I’m also aware of what you say, RE: Clarkson, Mitchell, and Conley vs Mudiay. Do you read my posts very often?

Just hard to see a guy improve as much as Mudiay and then get the pine.

Yeah but I think that Gary Payton made a good point on NBA TV the other day, and that's that Conley will be on a short leash coming back in the rotation. Mudiay was a big part of that 10 game winning streak, Snyder won't forget. Also, injuries to the starting back-court or Clarkson and his role will be increased as well.

In re-reading my post, I probably could have been more clear. If he doesn't see the floor much, he'll be a casualty of the Clarkson deal more than anything. Love having talent in reserve though, cause it is a long season. I love what he brings and hope we find a way to resign him. He's too valuable and on too good of a deal to be a trade chip IMO.

I still think we should move Conley after this season and re-sign Mudiay. And of course, Clarkson is a major priority.

I've always liked the Mudiay signing. While some jazz fans said negative things about it, I knew he'd be a good fit here. After playing for a dreadful organization like the Knicks, his agent knew what's up and called the Jazz.

We’re a slow plodding team without Conley. Anyway, the size of his contract makes doing that problematic. And trading for CP3 solves nothing and would be the biggest mistake we ever made IMO.

I think it is a really nice wrinkle in the offense having both Mudiay and Clarkson in pushing the pace. I'm not saying build the offense around it, just go to it when we get stagnant. It was a thing of beauty last night and pushed the lead allowing us to get the victory with the starters having a turn over festival in the last few minutes.

Those 2 pushing the tempo like they did really won us the game and is a crazy weapon to have off the bench. Dallas had no answer for them. Kept them on their heels the whole time they were in.
