Ron Mexico write-up
My team will be greatly improved next season when this competition is set for. I have 5 solid shooters on offense and some really good defenders in Siakam, Oubre, Allen, and Fox. I have the best big man combo in this competition by far. KAT is easily one of the best offensive bigs in the NBA. Siakam is just getting better as an elite 2 way big. My guards might not get the respect they deserve but they are both very good right now and will be even better next year. Shai is the leading scorer for the currently 5th seeded Thunder. Pretty much everyone of my starters is a 20 ppg type player. My team is a little young but they still have a few vets to help and Pascal won a championship last year.

One Love made some really good picks. But shooting is really lacking in that starting lineup. The floor spacing for Mitchell and Westbrook would be poor. Plus Westbrook has become in efficient and will get even worse next year. Putting Mitchell next to a guard that cant shoot and a bigs that cant shoot the 3 has not been a good recipe. Aldridge can kind of hit the 3 this year but at low attempts and has not normally been good from there. Whiteside cant shoot and Westbrook is shooting 25% but still jacking them up. Benches are pretty even though different.

Beer write-up
NBA championships are built on elite 2 way wings. I have 2 of the best. PG and Jimmy Butler. Is there a backcourt you'd want more than Jimmy Butler, PG, and Malcolm Brogdan taking on the elite wings like Kawhi, Lebron, Harden, Giannis, etc ....? 3 big, long, switchable wings that are all smart smart basketball players. Then you've got a paint protector like Turner and Ayton. Everyone on my team outside of Jimmy Butler and Ayton is a good 3 point shooter and Jimmy Butler does everything else well. I'll be able to switch 1 - 5 when necessary, Turner will cover up John Collins d deficiencies but Collins will make up for his D by being one of the most efficient offensive guys in the entire NBA.

Bench has scorers like Levert and Ayton, 2 elite defenders in Murray and Anunoby, and a great stretch 4 in Bjalinca.

Get the F out of my way and give my my championship.

Sidenote, was the 1 or 2 seed in all NBA 2K20 simulations. So obviously I built a great team.

Big, long, great on D, great 3 point shooting team, a ton of scoring off the bench. Stretch 4 and 5's. What else could you want?

Starters

Malcolm Brogdon - 6'5" 230 - Big PG that can switch 1 -3 and is an excellent on ball defender. Will be bigger than 95% of PG's. Does not need the ball to be succesful, so he will be the 1 but will not need to run the offense through him. He'll be a lockdown defender, make the smart play every time, and won't take touches from the stars. The perfect complementary 1, as we learned with his time in Milwaukee. Going back to his Milwakee #'s, as that is the role he will be playing again, he is averaging 16, 4 and 4, shooting 43% from 3 and an efg of 58%. The perfect complementary piece.

Jimmy Butler - 6'7" 230 - Another big guard. Will be stronger, and tougher than 95% of guys he matches up on. Elite on ball defender and ELITE competitor. Can switch 1-4 when needed. Easily the worst shooter on my team but makes up for it with pure bad assery and making winning plays. Heat are over achieving a ton with most of that due to Jimmy Butler. Averaging 21, 7 and 7 this year. All while being a lockdown defender. That is good. Can initiate the offense a good part of the game but also excels off the ball. Possibly the best glue guy in the league.

Paul George - 6'8" 220 - Everyone knows what PG can due. Elite on ball defender. Excellent scorer. Averaging 21, 6 and 4 right now. Can switch 1-4 most nights and can have the offense run 100% through him. I know we all hate PG but the guy is an absolute stud, especially with Jimmy fighting his battles for him and keeping his head on straight.

John Collins - 6'9" 235 - The most underrated guy on my team by far. A true stretch 4. Can pick and pop (shooting 43% from 3 this year), is also an elite rim runner and will dunk your face off of your face, shooting 58% from the field, yes 58%, thats a real stat, while shooting 43% from 3. Averaging 23 and 11 all while having Trae Young chuck up 50 shots a night. The dude is a stud.

Myles Turner - 6'11" 250 - Long long long rim protecting freak. He's not Rudy at the rim but he's at the top of the pack right below Rudy. On defense he will suffocate pick and rolls and is an absolute beast at the rim. On offense he is a functional stretch 5. Shoots 38% from 3 so you have to guard him. Will draw bigs like Rudy and Embiid away from the rim on offense and you are damn sure not dunking on him at the rim on D. Averaging 12 and 6 and 2 blocks a game.

Bench

Dejounte Murray - 6'5" 200 - Long long defensive first PG. The rising star of the Spurs. Shooting 38% from 3 and is a great on ball defender

Caris Levert - 6'6" 200 - True scorer, averaging 18 ppg this year. A rich mans Jordan Clarkson. Shooting 38% from 3 and gets better and better every year.

OG Anunoby - 6'8" 240 - An integral part of the Raptors wing defensive prowess. Can switch 1- 4, is a 39% 3 point shooter. Spreads the floor, plays great D and is a beast on D. Someone to really hold down the 2nd unit.

Nemanja Bjalica - 6'10" 230 - A true stretch 4. A poor mans Bogey. Great 3 point shooter, awesome in the pick and pop (shooting 42% from 3), can handle the ball a bit, a really key and underrated piece for the Kings. Will also be much better on a team with good players. A legit stretch 4 is invaluable in this day and age.

Deandre Ayton - 7' 250 - Averaging 20 and 10 as a 2nd year guy. Not someone I want as my 1 or 2 option like he is in Phoenix but if you can run your 2nd unit through him that is an awesome option. Will destroy almost every 2nd unit big out there.

I love Beer’s team. Almost perfectly constructed. And a big lol at Ron at naming Oubre as a really good defender.

Lol, he's a solid defender. He can guard 1 through 4. That's what he is known for and does well. He was really good a couple years ago in the playoffs for Washington on defense.

But lol at thinking I was matched against One Love. I thought that's what Wes posted. But he meant just waiting for our write ups.

Fox > Brogdon

Galinari and Shai < Butler and George
Maybe Butler and George are <<

Pascal and KAT >> Collins and Turner

My bigs would eat this team alive .

These are both good teams.
I went with Beer for now... but having Collins made it really hard. I get that he is an elite roll man, but so bad defensively. Of course, Galinari is also a significant defensive liability.
What almost flipped it for me was the idea of Fox and Siakam on the fast break. If you add KAT as the trailer then it becomes deadly. In the end, I went with Beer because I trust Butler the most to not disappear during high pressure games in the playoffs. KAT and Pascal were both unreliable in their last playoff run, and Fox hasn't proven it yet.

Bigs don't win championships. My only liability on D is Collins and he is an elite offensive player. But you've got an elite rim protector back there with him in Turner. I'm not worried at all about my backcourt shutting down Fox, Alexander, and Gallinari. Having backcourt advantage is far more important than having a frontcourt advantage. Us as Jazz fans should know this.

Fair on most points. I'm not sure what Butler has done more than Pascal in the playoffs. Last season both played better in the post season than the regular season and put up similar starts. Pascal went on to run win the championship where he was a big part in the finals wins. Especially game 6.

KAT is probably a worse defender than Collins, then add in Gallinari ... thats 2 sieves whereas I have 3 elite defenders, 1 elite rim protector, I just have to hide Collins on D and have the tools to do so. He has 2 hide 2 guys.

I voted for Beer as KAT is overrated and a big baby. He also couldn't even win 20 games this year as the number 1 option

Well this fight seems very closed!
I think that Ron would have more chance since his team seams to me more solid (from how concern the starters and the bench) both in offense and in defence.
The only doubt I have is KAT'performance during the playoff...
(And IMO, having Siakam in the team could help)

This is just me, but I would’ve started Kelly Oubre over Gallinari. Oubre has turned himself into a really good player, much better defender than Gallinari by a mile and still is a nice player on offense, he’s more well rounded than Gallinari IMO.

Wrong. Gallinari is a bum on D but he is much better than Oubre.

A few points I'd like to make.

1. KAT is a proven loser bitch baby
2. Brogdan, Butler, and PG is the best defensive wing lineup in this thing
3. Although I like Fox and Alexander you cannot trust them to best proven studs at this point
4. Mike Conley sucks nuts and should automatically disqualify Ron from the next round

I agree with this. I would start our Oubre his defense is really good and Galinari could provide a big spark offensively off the bench. But Oubre isn't going to get the recognition like galinari does in this. See Wes's comment.

Good players win championships. Paskal just won a championship as the 2nd best player and is leading player on one of the best teams in the East right now.

George will choke in the playoffs again. Butler will be hated by his teammates and lead try issues like it has with every team. Collins is an awful defender and not nearly three positive KAT is offensively to make up for it. Turner is a decent defender but a really unification inefficient big that throws up bad shots. Look at his bad 3s this year. Brogdon is an average starter in the NBA. He can't shoot 3s this year.

Fox and Shai are unproven but next year they'll be even better and prove themselves. Conley is a great player and leader. Perfect off the bench with youth team next year. Kat needs a decent team and he will explode instead of a **** show Minny. His team is incredibly better with him on the court and historically bad with him off this year.

Just FYI paskal is leading his team to a better record than the star studded Clippers where Paul George is the second best on that team next to kwahi. The same player that paskal was second to and won a championship. Oh and who beat Butler's team in the playoffs where Butler was the 3rd option.

This will be an easy win for me in retrospect after next season. Right now it's not going to happen.

You have 1 player who has done anything in regards to winning and while he was arguably the 2nd best player, Kawhi was 90% of that team. Let’s not pretend Paskal carried them for more than a game or 2 max. He had that one huge game and other than that Kawhi carried that entire team for the entire playoffs. Other than that you’ve got a bunch of young guns who have proven nothing.

I do feel like our benches are pretty even and our starters match up well but like I said wings>bigs every time.
