Rodgers is tearing it up. If the Saints could have scored in that 2 minute drill, it would have been huge. It's still a game though. Saints just have to get some more stops, get Sproles more punt returns.

Listening to it on the radio, but it sounds like Rodgers is quite sharp. This was what I was worried about having to play them twice a year. I was hoping for a Superbowl hangover.
The Saints are playing pretty sub-par D honestly. They have had two sacks, but other than that, not much pressure. Got burned on man coverage, so they switched to zone and that helped slow that pounding that Rodgers was delivering, but only actually stopped a drive once.

Can't beat Rogers with that lackluster pass rush. They better find a way to get into the backfield.

Regarding the Colts and Manning, he is the ultimate keystone player. That whole team is built on the premise that Manning will run up an early lead and their very small defensive players simply pin their ears back and destroy the opposing QB. They cannot sustain any kind of run defense. Also Manning made that line look a lot better than it really is. He is probably the best ever at lining up and audibling into the what the D is giving him. There's no way Collins can replace that.
Without Manning putting up all those points their defense will get steamrolled.

Damn, at least the Saints kept the game interesting to the very last second. Wish they would have called a passing play on that last one, but still a fun game. The early Packers lead was just too much to come back from, plus the Saints were terrible in the red zone with play calls.

I have one big bitch which is bad play calling in critical situations. The Saints were clearly outclassed yet brought themselves back into the game and had a chance to win. I think it might be a while before the Saints are faced with an opponent as good as the Packers. IMO the Saints showed a lot.
I just don't get why Offensive Coordinators insist on running up the gut when everybody is expecting it. Down by 8, no time on the clock, ball on the 1. What should I do? Run it up the middle into a D-Line that has been kicking my O-Line's *** all night? Sounds like a good one to me. If it were me, I fake it up the middle and roll my QB out with a TE dragging across the end zone. You throw it if it's open, if not, the QB runs it in.
The Saints had got stopped twice before on similar goal line situations were they tried passing. They were doing a fairly good job at getting short yardage games the whole game with Ingram.
Play calling is a lot harder when you have to come from behind the whole game. Had the game been closer, the Saints would have employed a more dedicated run attack.

That was a great game. Saint fans should hold their heads high. Had they been playing anybody else last night they probably would have throttled them. IMO the balance of power is starting to shift dramatically to the NFC with Green Bay and New Orleans leading the way. I also like Atlanta and Philly better than any of the AFC squads. New England will always put up good regular seasons but Billicheat's post season record isn't so stellar ever since spygate, obviously you can scratch Indy off the power list for 2011, the media's love affair with Rex Ryan's fat-*** always leads the Jests to be a bit overrated IMO and Pittsburg was manhandled by Green Bay in last years Super Bowl and nothing has really changed in the offseason that would make anybody think (except myopic Pittsburg fans) that Pitt has leapfrogged the Pack in any way, shape, or form.

Except for the other time (it may have even been the drive before) where they only had a foot to go and they got 6". I still try something else. Everybody and their dog knew it was going right up the gut. I HATE that call.

I was just thinking about this today. Is Manning the best QB ever to play the game? I think a strong case could be made that he is. With Manning the Colts are Playoff bound and possible Superbowl contenders. Without Manning they are getting blown out by a slightly above average team. With Manning, Reggie Wayne and Austin Collie put up Pro Bowl worthy numbers. Without him they are exposed as decent, but unremarkable wide receivers. Manning is 100% responsible for the success of the offenses he runs. Brady (while a great QB) and others benefit from working with excellent coaching staffs.
