I think the biggest weakness he has is that he is not assertive with the ball. He can't take the ball and do something but he shows an understanding of the game. In the limited minutes I saw him, he was constantly pointing his teammates to their spots, getting open and cutting. He has good feet, stays in front of his man and recovers well when beaten. He also rotated correctly which is big.
Honestly that weakness is a plus in the role we need. All he needs to do is be in the right place, play hard good defense, and shoot when he is open. I think he understands that. His initial role will involve not doing too much. If he plays hard defense and goes 1/3 from 3 in 12-15 minutes... that is just fine imo.
This is somewhat true but if you aren't making plays happen as soon as things open up consistently, your minutes are going to waver like Burks or Exum. Oni looks like he is a plus defender but it's not like he is lockdown, he needs to provide other things.
