Kira would be great value for us imo. He's likely gonna end up 6 or 7 on my final board. He's my #2 guard overall.

I would be insanely happy to get either one where we are picking.

Poku is a risk. But he has top 3 upside in this class imo. The combination of size, age, mobility and skill with the ball that he possesses is crazy rare. He's in my big board top 5. I may end up putting him at 2 when all is said and done.

Precious is currently 16 on my board. His size/athleticism combo is rare for his size in the NBA too. I think it's going to allow him to guard SF-C in the NBA. He is one of the few players in this class with the physical tools to guard guys like LeBron and Kawhi 1v1 effectively. He's one of the few bigs in this class (maybe the only one) with the athletic tools to switch on defense with positive results. His motor is relentless. He defends. He rebounds. He's still learning to play PF/C because he was a wing before last season. He's still raw in big man techniques on both ends of the floor. He needs deveIopment. But I don't really see a way he completely fails in the league.

Ty-Shon Alexander is another guy the Jazz could look at if they trade for a second round pick. 22 year old guard from Creighton. He shoots the three well on volume. He's more than a shooter too. He can a handle a little in pick and roll. He does a good job of holding defenders on his back when he gets in front and picking out a pass. Can knock down a middy. Defensively he's really smart and fiesty. He's aggressive in pick and roll defense (something we need). He's good at drawing charges. He's an explosive weakside shot blocker too. Has a chance to be a helpful player on both ends.

Ok now you've gone too far... This is simply not true and demonstrates a lack of context.. In this draft maybe, but in the world?? definitely no.

Ima huge Ty-Shon Alexander fan... First pointed him out here back when he was a 3-star recruit. I'm interested to see how tall he really is. Always felt like if he was an inch or 2 taller he'd get more pub. But thats just how it is for 6'3-barely 6'4ish SG's, ask Kendrick Nunn!
 
Even like Nate Bittle.... I think deserves mention when talking about this Poku archetype..


Is Poku really a markedly better prospect than him (Consensus top-10 recruit in the class of 2021) He's about 6'11 a really good shooter, very mobile and skinny.

If either Portland or Phoenix beats Dallas in their next two games, the Jazz can go ahead and blow off their last game against the Spurs and likely pick at #20. We need Indiana to pick up a win, or Philadelphia to pick up 2 more wins, in their remaining games.

The consensus top 12 guys seem to include Edwards, Ball, Wiseman, Hayes, Toppin, Avdija, Okongwu, Haliburton, Okoro, Vassell, Anthony and Williams.

Nesmith, Lewis Jr. and S. Bey would be expected to round out the top 15. At least, they wouldn't be expected to be on the board at #20.

The Jazz would probably then be choosing from among Maxey, Hampton, Pokusevski, Achiuwa, Maledon and Green.

Terry, McDaniels, Bolmaro, Smith and Reed could still be wildcards.

Those are some good options. Plus the talent available at #20 is good enough to factor into a trade to move up a few spots.
 
It's there a relatively slow, preferably white, guy with middling athleticism, with good "fundamentals" or who had one good shooting year? Then that's who the jazz will draft.

Who are the other jazz draft picks that fit this description? I guess in theory you could put that to Grayson Allen, but its a stretch.
 
After failing to convince the Jazz front office with my Eric Paschal/Admiral Schofield campaign last year, I’ve decided to go for Jalen Smith and Tyler Bey for guys that would realistically be in our range this year. Even saw a video on youtube titled ‘Is Tyler Bey the next Kawhi Leonard?’. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume he won’t be, but he looks interesting to me. Smith is probably the better prospect though.
 
Saddiq Bey can shoot, although the mechanics are little funky. I'm just not sold that he's going to provide much else. He's gonna be a passable NBA level athlete at best. He doesn't have NBA level wing skills. I think he's gonna end up playing the 4 in the NBA. Biggest misconception about him is the idea that he is "3&D". He's not some lockdown iso defender. He was a solid team defender on the college level and if you draft him you hope that translates because in one on one defense he's going to have trouble with the speed and size he will face. His hips are a little tight. I could see the Jazz being interested. He's a good scheme fit. But I wouldn't love him as the pick to be honest. I think that the consensus has him waaayyy too high.

Tyler Bey is a fantastic athlete and a really really good defender. I just don't buy any of his offensive game beyond being able to dunk. He doesn't have wing skills. I don't buy his jumpshot ever getting to the point where he's shooting better than maybe 30% from 3 on volume. The massive problem he faces is that he's not big enough to play center like a Precious Achiuwa or Paul Reed. If he could I would be much higher on him. A team can survive and even thrive with a limited offensive center. But a limited offensive wing? That's extremely tough. He's another guy the Jazz probably have interest in but I wouldn't love the pick.
 
These days I see conversation about Tyler Bey, which is nice. However the more I see him mentioned the less it's paired with talk about his rebounding --- which to me is rather strange....

I guess his agent's doing a good job... idk
