Following Potential 2020 draftees

One thing I do think ESPN/Givony is gonna end up being right about is being high on Robert Woodard... I agree with their assesment of his less than ideal showcasing at the lesser MSU too.

I've been here posting about Woodard since he was in HS! He was a Team USA kid.

Is there anyone here who thinks the Greek player is better than Woodard II?

I have Kalaitzakis ahead of Woodard on my board. Although they are both in the same general area (30s to early 40's). Not sure why you would compare the two though because they are completely different types of players. Kalaitzakis is a wing and Woodard is a PF. I value Kalaitzakis higher because he has actual wing skills. He can handle, create his own shot, initiate pnr, pass and that has more value in the league. As a prospect woodard is kind of like if Saddiq Bey and Tyler Bey had a lovechild. None of them have wing skills. He's not the defender Tyler is and he doesn't have the physical profile. He's not the shooter Saddiq is. He doesn't have the strengths they have as players. His flaws aren't as glaring theirs either tho. He's kinda just an athlete that's possibly passable at most things.

Kalaitzakis and Bolmaro working out against each other....

Minny and GS get 1/2 swear the West gonna be a bigger blood bath than we ever seen next year.

How ESPN mock looking now. This draft gonna be some weird fits in the lotto after 1-2.

I think Elijah Hughes might end up being the best option available to us unless someone unexpected slips. Possibly McDaniels. But McDaniels is the far more risky option who won't help us for years at minimum.

I know some are skeptical about Hughes. But I'm telling you I think he's gonna be good. He can shoot, shoot with range, create off the bounce, cut, post-up, pass, he's athletic.

I posted about how much I liked Donte Divincenzo a couple years ago. I posted about how much I liked Luguentz Dort last year. Elijah Hughes is that wing dude for me this year.

I can see Hughes being a sleeper pick for the Jazz. Good size and athleticism for a 2-guard. Some ability to shoot off the dribble. Possibly underrated on defense since he played for Syracuse. I wouldn't hate the pick.

wow I am liking what i see in Hughes

Something I've noticed in the recent mocks is that Tyrell Terry is creeping up all boards.... Kinda seems like a cat is out of the bag situation to me..

I would love to get Killian Tillie in the second round. If his injuries are behind him he could be a valuable rotation big in the NBA

I like him a lot. He's so skilled and smart. Really good passer for his size. Kind of underrated on defense too. Positions himself well. Knows how to use his frame/strength. Times contests well. If it wasn't for injuries I'd be fine with him at 23 tbh.

Yeah. He's a prospect that just checks a lot of boxes for me.

He's a guy who can handle the ball and create offensive looks for himself which is something not all wing prospects can do. His shot is really really nice. He has repeatable form off the catch, off the bounce. His touch is excellent. He has deep logo range on the shot. He shot the three at high volume and his FT% is good.. the indicators are there to match the eye. Despite playing in an isolation heavy Syracuse offense and being asked to shoulder a lot of the offensive load and take a bulk of defensive attention he was able to be reasonably efficient. He is a solid cutter off ball. He is able to post up smaller defenders. He rebounded the ball well despite Syracuse playing two bigs a lot. There are even things defensively that are very positive signs despite the zone.

Sam Vecenie at The Athletic updated his mock draft after the lottery. He's done some nice write-ups on players through the 2nd round.

He has the Jazz taking Tre Jones at #23, which I wouldn't agree with. Other players on the board in his mock include Maledon and McDaniels when the Jazz pick. I think both Maledon and McDaniels are distinct possibilities for the Jazz if they can't move up.

Other notables include Leandro Bolmaro moving up to #17 on his mock. He has Pokusevski all the way up at #14 to Boston, though I'd imagine they'd take Achiuwa over Poku. He shows Kira Lewis, Cole Anthony and Tyrese Maxey all slipping to go 18, 19 and 20, respectively.

He's got Paul Reed all the way down at #52. BTW, keep an eye on Paul Eboua for the Jazz in the late 2nd round, someone they worked out and interviewed a year ago.

Malachi Flynn is someone I could see working here. Whether we trade/buy him is another question but look at these highlights
