But this series it's like we've reverted to the gameplan of old, which seems to be just having Jokic camp in no-man's land and allowing them both open mid-range shots as well as layups, somehow. It's terrible, dude. Part of it is cause Harris and Barton are out, but strateigcally, it seems like they've reverted to the way we defended P&R 2 years ago which was a massive problem. It's mind boggling
Utah was a terrible offense most of the year but now because Conley stopped shooting like Ben Simmons, they can actually use a good PnR

We have two starters out and are praying that a rookie will somehow be the missing piece that will take us to the next level. And Jokic lost a ton of weight and now has zero inside presence.

Our defense is so, so bad. It's hard to watch. That was among the worst defensive performances I've ever seen -- sadly, so were the last 2 games, haha. Gary and Barton would certainly help but the problems are far deeper than that.
If nothing else, our weaknesses have been ****ing exposed and we know better than ever exactly what we need to improve on.
It's horrific. Jokic gets caught in no man's land almost every single time -- guarding neither the ball handler or the rim adequately, nor in solid position for the rebound. The dunker spot is so exposed yet we're somehow also giving up wide open mid ranges and allowing offensive rebounds. Like, in terms of pick and roll offense, we're doing literally nothing well. It's like we've reverted to our defense of 2 years ago and erased all the positive changes we made to cover that issue. Which is bring Jokic up more and rotate help down low, and rotate on the perimiter to cover said help. 2 years ago Jokic would drop -- we made the change to have him hedge and rely on help rotation and it ruled. This series, it's like we've reverted to our old defense and it blows.
Again, part of it is inexperienced personell -- MPJ is ****ing lost on defense and Gary is legit one of the better and smarter perimeter defenders in the league, and Barton is a solid defender as well -- but it seems like the strategy and gameplan isn't even good, and no one is executing well
Our defense is ****ing atrocious. Like, embarrasingly bad in every way.

It's terrible, dude. Part of it is cause Harris and Barton are out, but strateigcally, it seems like they've reverted to the way we defended P&R 2 years ago which was a massive problem. It's mind boggling
Utah was a terrible offense most of the year but now because Conley stopped shooting like Ben Simmons, they can actually use a good PnR

We have two starters out and are praying that a rookie will somehow be the missing piece that will take us to the next level. And Jokic lost a ton of weight and now has zero inside presence.
Mike Conley apparently remembered how to shoot
Our defense is so, so bad. It's hard to watch. That was among the worst defensive performances I've ever seen -- sadly, so were the last 2 games, haha. Gary and Barton would certainly help but the problems are far deeper than that.
If nothing else, our weaknesses have been ****ing exposed and we know better than ever exactly what we need to improve on.
It's horrific. Jokic gets caught in no man's land almost every single time -- guarding neither the ball handler or the rim adequately, nor in solid position for the rebound. The dunker spot is so exposed yet we're somehow also giving up wide open mid ranges and allowing offensive rebounds. Like, in terms of pick and roll offense, we're doing literally nothing well. It's like we've reverted to our defense of 2 years ago and erased all the positive changes we made to cover that issue. Which is bring Jokic up more and rotate help down low, and rotate on the perimiter to cover said help. 2 years ago Jokic would drop -- we made the change to have him hedge and rely on help rotation and it ruled. This series, it's like we've reverted to our old defense and it blows.
Again, part of it is inexperienced personell -- MPJ is ****ing lost on defense and Gary is legit one of the better and smarter perimeter defenders in the league, and Barton is a solid defender as well -- but it seems like the strategy and gameplan isn't even good, and no one is executing well
Our defense is ****ing atrocious. Like, embarrasingly bad in every way.

Is it weird that I actually feel better about a Mitchell on Porter iso than I do about stopping the Mitchell/Gober PnR when Jok drops? It just seems like every PnR is a wide open 3, layup for the ball handler, or lob to Gobert. At least Porter can partially contest a jumper.

quin snyder recognized it and made the adjustment. and they exploited it every. time. jokic drops off, puts no pressure on the ball, and either mitchell or clarkson have a free throw shot they can sink at 80-90% clip. jok is my favorite player but they are targeting him just as much as MPJ.
Honestly if the Jazz play like this they might win the whole damn thing. There ain’t one team that has been this potent in shooting in this whole first round. Raps are right there but man this hot shooting jeez. Granted our defense does suck *** but if the Jazz keep lighting it up like this throughout the rest of the playoffs I can’t imagine teams fairing a whole bunch better than us

Do people finally see what’s wrong with saying “next year?” I heard it after 2017,18,19 and am even hearing it now. If you told me in 2017 that we would win one game in the playoffs I’d be beyond disgusted. This team has such a losing attitude and there’s no urgency, except for Jamal (props).
Also, it seems that Malone has an agenda to freeze MPJ out, and I am not exaggerating. I’ve never seen a 42% 3PT shooter get so little attention.

Horrible defensive performance from the nuggets. The jazz had so many easy buckets and the free throw disparity is very telling. Murray gave it his all though.
Charles Barkley was right at halftime. He said it's absurd that Mike Malone had to tell his players to play hard and give 100% effort. Barkley said this shows the immaturity of this nuggets team.
