Tough Day To Be In Law Enforcement

Let's start with the riot last night and the 23 arrested.

Oh, 90 consecutive days of protesting err... rioting.

That sounds like a good appetizer.

Portland averaged about 5,000 arrests per month in 2019.

The protests have been peaceful on almost all nights, and relatively contained.

I think it's worth noting that the rioting and such in Portland has been pretty much confined to just a few city blocks. The city itself is hardly a warzone.
OJ Simpson was mostly non-violent the night Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman were murdered.

Most areas of the Grand Tetons don't have grizzly bears so you don't have to bring bear spray.

Most of Portland isn't a war zone except the part where it's a war zone.

This is real dumb, even by your standards.

“The financial consequences to the downtown corridor are a running calculation that is almost impossible to wrap your mind around,” he said — with one company already saying the riots have cost $20 million in damage and lost business."

@One Brow at what point do you think it's a **** hole?

In the video you just offer of the police charging the protesters, the streets were clean, in good repair, with very little little. The walkway overhead was pristine.

So, none of those things.

This is the dumbest line people use to defend criminals.

I don't consider it criminal to refuse to move when a police officer is telling you to move, in order to your protest. Isn't this a free country?

There are criminals who take advantage of the chaos. In areas where the police aren't too busy attacking the protesters, they actually can get support from them stopping such people.

Does that ever work out without there being bystanders caught in the middle?

Likely not, someone has to do something in Portland as it is very clear the dangerous idiots have taken over. I'd rather it not be the other morons in these militias but if the cops and govt aren't I guess they get their shot. No pun intended.

I literally drove through Portland 2 weeks ago. With my own human body. Saw it with my own eyes. It is a disaster. It looks like a war zone. The once beautiful downtown is just broken glass, boarded up windows, spray paint, and remnants of fire. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, but it's hardly the whole city. Don't let the war zone part of Portland distract you from the rest of Portland.

Portland isn't exactly a large city. So those "few" city blocks are the ones where all the businesses are, where everyone needs to be.
