I still don't think anyone is voting for Biden out of sympathy alone. Sure people might sympathize with him but that isn't the reason for their voting.

Also, I think even if Biden was unlikeable and no one sympathized with him there would still be many people voting for him simply cause they think trump is a dick and want to vote "against" trump. Like myself

Well then circling back to your original question about how you think a different, more Obama-like candidate would make a difference, we agree to disagree.

The people who are not voting for Trump simply because they think he is a dick is a separate group. That group votes that way regardless of who the candidate is. But the hypothetical question was about group of voters who would vote differently based on the actual person running.

Thus, to answer that question, I think Trump's rude behavior towards a candidate whose mental health is deteriorating will cause some people not to vote for Trump that otherwise might have. Those same voters would not be turned off if Trump was rude to an Obama-like candidate or an unlikeable candidate. That is my opinion.

Well I mean look no further than this thread.
Tfivas voted for trump. He didn't want to though. It was just that Biden had nothing to offer.
Give him a good candidate with something to offer and he doesn't vote trump, he votes for the good candidate. There are many voters out there like tfivas. My father is another one.

Kind of common sense that a good candidate with something to offer would garner more votes than a poor candidate with nothing to offer isn't it? Or is that crazy talk and I'm living in the upside down where Americans prefer to vote for a poor candidate with nothing to offer over a good candidate with something to offer?

I don’t know much about US politics but I’ve seen a clip where he clearly says of that incident “not the white supremacists who should be condemned” but other than them there were good people in both sides. Is that the one you mean ?

Yeah, I agree. It won’t have an effect at all. Trump hoped for so much more, by way of a truly damaging October surprise. And I expect Rudy will provide more of the lame same, instead. But it’s way too late for Russian provided disinformation. We’ll remember which party enabled that disinformation, which party had no problem supporting collusion with our number one geopolitical adversary. Our democracy means nothing to them, only retaining power matters to these traitors. I do believe a true Manchurian candidate could not have done a better job than Trump at damaging our nation. Looking forward to the Blue Wave tsunami...

This. Largely the same reason a lot of people voted for Trump last time, they were voting against Hillary.

And no one, not a single person, is voting for Biden because they feel sorry for him. That is a really stupid take.

Other reporters refused to put their names on the story because they knew it was nonsense.


If the Post has any integrity, they’d fire some people.

Not only have they been holding onto this imaginary porn, but they've apparently made copies lol. In this bizzaro world we live in this play almost makes sense, a pretty large segment of the population has been primed with QAnon nonsense for the past few years. Even my non-Q believing conservative family members seem to have a deeply held belief that the democratic party is overrun with pedophiles.

I say it almost makes sense because this story is so flimsy and nonsensical that I don't think it's actually going to change anyone's mind this go around.
