Following Potential 2020 draftees

According to nbadraft.net we’re passing on Kira Lewis, Poku, RJ Hampton and Tyler Bey amongst others to pick...Nico Mannion. I’m not liking it.

No worries. A few years ago I looked at all NBADRAFT.NET Jazz selections and I think they had 4 correct in 20 years and two were D-Will and Kanter (both 3rd overall). I know one was Sasha Pavlovic and I believe Lyles was the other.

Whomever they think we'll select likely won't happen.

The real "piss everyone off pick" would be Tre Jones. I can just see the Zanik/DL presser talking about Jazz DNA and the interview with Quin of no substance only talking about having yet another Dukie on the team
He’s on my list of hate picks. I heard his balance is phenomenal and his hand pads are extraordinary.

Tre Jones gives me serious Jacque Vaughn vibes.

Wondering if Maledon would fit into our system. He's a combo guard who can defend, hit threes (well... last season anyway) and has a high basketball I.Q. I know he's slated to go earlier but he's not too far out of our range.

Unless someone falls I think we may end up bringing in Tillman to fill the immediate need of backup big. We need a budget option there and I think there are a lot of things that scream "Jazz DNA".

I also think we sometime lock in on "our guy" early... Tillman should be there so would provide the comfort DL likes.

I think he's a potential good pick in the second round... I think he might be able to play some backup pg right away... but I also think that is his ceiling.

And those where right before the draft. They arent going to be right a month out.

Yes, Tillman would most likely be an upgrade over Morgan and someone who is a more natural center. I'm interested to see his official measurments.

I like him quite a bit. I would really like to swipe another pick in the 30s so you could take a higher ceiling prospect and maybe land a guy like Tillman that is ready to play sooner.

The chances of him becoming anything more than a semi functional backup PG are about 0.001%
I mean, it's certainly a bit higher than that. Guys like Fred Van Vleet have shown it's entirely possible for guards without remarkable size or length to be very good if they are tough and can shoot. He certainly fits that kind of profile of smaller guard who can succeed in the NBA (tough).

that latest nbadraft.net mock has Tyrell Terry 12th tho... so til we get some further clarification on that situation, it appears tohave gone off the haywire

I've always talked up the Texas and Georgia hotspots, and they usually prove me right(**cough** Isaac Okoro **cough**), year after year after year outstanding talent is 'marginalized' because those regions are strong enough to hide super-sleepers in plain sight..

Maxey is one of the champions from those hotspots. To me when a players from that area and i know and like them that gives me even more reason not to underestimate them, and i dont think its just a case of luck, theres good reason, competition.

Might seem silly to you but on decisions such as Lonzo Ball vs De'Aaron Fox... which fooled the masses, but not me, this sorta thing ended up holding massive weight. It's not about just making a choice and sticking with it either, like some fan, it's about the level of conviction you have when making said choice.

Conviction is really a word ppl will avoid around here, and in threads/discussions like these, they think it's smart to be on the fence and using wishy-washy noncommittal terms. To me, thats the opposite of what this is about.

I think its silly that Okongwu's 9th on cy's list.

When I see Okongwu 9th and just a mere 16 picks later Xavier Tillman, IMO that is such a drastic dropoff in talent, i get the 'this doesnt add up' feeling... like whats the universal studios ride the haunted elevator where the **** just drops? that kind of drastic dropoff...

No doubt in my mind tho that is the DREAM SCENARIO FOR THE KNICKS tho...

If they could land Okongwu 8th that is such a steal
