What's new

Following Potential 2020 draftees

To be clear, I'm not itching to cobble him as a regular 5, just situational or in a switch. I think his biggest selling point is his defensive versatility, but I think he should essentially be a 4 in the modern NBA (which is the new "swingman").
and about how many games of basketball have you seen robert woodard play? cuz forgive me if im wrong but i'd bet the answer is little to none.... cuz just thats how u make it sound...

Can you recall a single instance of him guarding an NBA 5 type of player? or is it all just some dream of yours thats being projected?

Cuz like with Abdul Ado and Reggie Perry there I dont think he'd really have had much of an opportunity to showcase what your talking about here.

I say it based on that the center position is the least-skilled on the floor and players that have never played it are starting to play it in the NBA, nominally speaking. Woodard has a physical profile that compares favorably to Draymond Green (virtually identical height and length, would venture they have similar levels of strength, almost certainly more explosive/athletic) who has done his greatest damage as a center.

When teams can field a lineup that eschews a traditional center in favor of more skill, mobility, and spacing without getting pummeled inside, it bodes well for them. It's become something of standard practice in playoff basketball. And we have jack ****ing none of that but should get to figuring it out.

Theo Maledon could still be in play for the Jazz. He can play next to Mitchell, both on and off the ball. Maledon might be French for George Hill. The only real problem with Maledon is that his steal rate is low.

I've seen Maledon in a couple mocks to the Jazz, but seems like Tony has been shutting down any floor general types

What? Why? Our passing is dog **** and going to get worse.
I think the idea is Mitchell is moving to PG full time after next season, so the Jazz don't want to draft one. They want a complementary wing who can play alongside him.

K, well, until Donovan learns to reliably and regularly whip cross court passes, live dribble one-handed passes, and lobs then the Jazz would do well to find a player bigger than Donovan to supplement that.

And what is the point in waiting to transition to Donovan after next year? **** is stupid and I'm sure the Knicks would take Conley. Let's stop wasting time.

Jaden McDaniels is a guy who could've started out the season with the Utah evaluators saying "We love this player but he's gonna be way out of our range".... and now their trying to luck out with him falling into their laps....

That scenario imo is very realistic...

McDaniels is like 6" taller than Royce Oneale too... A lot of the tweener forwards in this draft, such as Woodard, have kinda redundant skillsets with O'Neale... But not McDaniels, their skillsets arent even close...

Could McDaniels fit in for Utah the way that Darius Bazley fit for OKC last year rookie season? Cuz if the answer is yes, McDaniels has gotta be the pick...

whenever I watched OKC with Bazley on the floor I'd always be thinking "Actually, how good is this team?" Seemed tough for me to gauge their power levels like Swamp Thing..

TBH tho I do think that Bazley was better at this stage though. To me Bazley's shot selection and jumpshot were better, McDaniels probably has him beat defensively tho.

Not if the rumors are true and the Knicks end up trading for Westbrook
The Knicks’ plan since the night they ****ed up 2019 free agency was to try again in 2021. They could trade for Westbrook, but that is greater than one entire max cap slot they’d be committing to an increasingly past-his-prime dude with an ever-evaporating jump shot and increasing health issues.

But yeah, maybe they go for it, but they’re also saying they won’t send assets at all as a rule. We’ll see where it goes, but if I’m them, I just take the Conley rental and it wouldn’t be close.

I mean, it's something you would have to teach him to do and it wouldn't really be possible in the first two years I would think.
