What's new

Shaq

Call me when this guy wins us a chip. This minimum deal should’ve gone to Brantley.
Listen if you don’t want to buy the hype you can always go watch grainy footage of Bolomboy coming off the bench for whatever league he is in. I’m sure that is much more fun.

This could be the tipping point of our roster going from possible contender to a team that can beat the Lakers/Clippers/Bucks with everybody healthy on both squads.

If you are not a team with the best 2 players on the floor, and you are trying to win by attrition, you have to have legit NBA players 10 men deep. We do now.
Shaquille Harrison is a 6'7" combo guard who shoots left handed and plays hard-nosed defense, even for the losing Chicago Bulls. This guy has average 1 steal per game while only playing 11 mpg. He also had 0.5 blocked shots per game. And he never had rim protection backing him up. If he gets 15 mpg with the Jazz, I'd expect him to get 1.5 spg.

He's also a decent spot up shooter, who has never played for a team that is running system ball. Or if the Bulls had a system they were doing - it was lost on me and them.

He shoots 38% from 3, 78% from the line, can handle, and plays tough defense. What's not to love?
He isn’t 6’7”

I still can't believe we got this guy for the minimum. He could be a huge difference maker. What a steal!

It boggles my mind that Chicago picked up Valentine's option at like 4.5M and didn't make the qualifying offer to Shaq... Denzel is already having hamstring issues in camp. This is how bad teams stay bad.

Does anyone have some insight they can share on the hand injury?
This was weird and there is no clarity on it from Tony's article. He played in the Bulls minicamp/bubble thing. Not sure when he got hurt.

Between Oni and Harrison I feel like we have a good shot of finding a good player there. As much as I wanted Shaq, I still think there’s a decent chance Oni ends up playing more minutes. Shaq did have a regular role one season, and he wasn’t nearly as good as the two other seasons where his minutes were few and at the end of the season.

This gives us two shots at a player we really need. The chances of us getting a useful, important player went up significantly by throwing another hat in the ring.

#1 I'm surprised this guy signed for the minimum.

#2 I feel like I should be congratulating Handlogten so congratulations.

#3 Jazz added some guys this offseason to solidify the interior defense as well as the perimeter defense. Here's to getting back to that 2018 team defense efficiency where we were #2 in the league behind the Bucks.
