In losing fashion, we seen this same story with AD! Him & BI need some shooters.
SVG not the right coach for this team. Can't even utilize BI, zion and adams in screen and roll. Plus lonzo still plays like a rookie and hayes looks always lost while on court.

Zion continues to be at his best but unfortunately for the Pels, losing to the Jazz was at its worst.

Take Zion off this team and they are the worst team in the league by a hugeeee landslide. No other player would be starting on any other 29 teams except maybe Ingam, who thinks he’s Kobe except he’s an average basketball player

That's Utah's offense. They destroy defenses like Milwaukee and the Pelicans.
Good rotation by the Jazz. Pulled Gobert early so that he could take advantage of Jax. Having Favors allows them to do that.
Hayes will be destroyed by Gobert. Stan got played by Snyder. He pulled Gobert because he knew he was going to rotate him in when Adams came out. So stupid. You could see it a mile away.
That's Utah's offense. They keep you off balance. Even if Hayes rotates, another guy will be open behind him. You need picture perfect defense to defend a lot of what Utah is able to do.

PSA There’s no Jazz music in Utah
Next two games we are matching up against the Jazz so splitting them would be great and beating them twice would be incredible. They have gone on a 5 game win streak against some pretty impressive teams like the Bucks and Nuggets so this will be difficult test for us. That being said, I think there are definitely some areas we can take advantage of.
Eric Bledsoe vs Mike Conley: Mike may be 33, but he is proving that he has some juice left. He has been hitting his shots so far and is a huge passing threat as well. Eric has been struggling defensively lately, but I think he can bounce back against Conley if he plays smart. Offensively we need Eric to continue to be aggressive when the ball is in his hands. I love that he was draining threes last game, but I would much rather see him driving to get the Jazz in foul trouble.
Lonzo Ball vs Donovan Mitchell: I know some people would rather see NAW start over Eric or Lonzo, but I don't think he did enough to prove he can start over our main two especially in a match-up where the guards are the other teams main scoring options. This will be a good game to see if Lonzo's injury was actually affecting his aggressiveness/shooting. If it did maybe we will see the guy that impressed for a stretch last year. He has the height and length to severely limit Mitchell on the defensive end while also being able to shoot over the top of Donovan offensively. Honestly if Lonzo can shut down Mitchell we'll win this game handily.
Brandon Ingram vs Bojan Bogdanovic: Bojan is typically going to be the third option for the Jazz, but if left alone he can certainly burn you from deep. Bojan is shooting 38.80% from three so far so Stan will need to adjust to D to not cheat off him. I thought BI had his best defensive game of the season against Harrison Barnes, and I hope it will continue. Bogdanovic actually has a better 3 pt % than he does overall so forcing him not to shoot threes is essential to us coming out on top. No one in the league can slow down BI when he's hitting his shot so I'm not worried about him. He seems to struggle against small handsy defenders so we'll see if they try to throw Conley at him, but I'm not worried about our guy.
Zion Williamson vs Royce O'Neale: This is where the Jazz can be exploited. They simply do not have the size and length to bother Zion at the rim. Sure Rudy will be looking to make a play on every Zion drive, but Zion's pure strength is just too much for Gobert to handle. There is no reason Zion can't have another blow up game tonight against a defender who's probably giving up 50 pounds. Royce is a great defender and a knock down three point shooter. He's shooting 48% from three so far this year, but we need to prioritize protecting the paint so leaving him open may be our best option as he has not proven he can be the go to scorer for the team.
Steven Adams vs Rudy Gobert: If you like big men action than this is the match-up for you. While neither of these guys are a threat offensively, they bring rim protection and strong rebounding. The best part for us is that Rudy can't shoot threes so Steven should be able to pitch a tent in the key. Rudy will be able to do the same, but I don't see that making a difference with big Z barreling at him.

The quality difference between the two teams is staggering. The Jazz are what the Pels should aspire to be in the near future. Phenomenal ball movement, excellent 3 point shooting, great defense, discipline, and lots of depth. The Pels have absolutely ZERO depth. Besides Zion and BI, the rest team is terrible and would never ever see the court on a championship level team. That speaks volumes to me.

The Pels need more creation like that. Joel and AD constantly commenting about the Jazz driving to pass, the Pels just lack that ability greatly.
The offense plays vastly better in pace than in that half-court offense we mostly use so far. BI is suffering from it, and Zion isn’t yet because he’s so dominant in the paint, but I think he can still get his buckets regardless on how we play
Honestly I think Lonzo is a significant issue. He is a zero on offense right now, he just gives you nothing. NAW and Kira are just giving you so much more in terms of getting into the defense and forcing rotations.

The quality difference between the two teams is staggering. The Jazz are what the Pels should aspire to be in the near future. Phenomenal ball movement, excellent 3 point shooting, great defense, discipline, and lots of depth. The Pels have absolutely ZERO depth. Besides Zion and BI, the rest team is terrible and would never ever see the court on a championship level team. That speaks volumes to me.

The Jazz are just a much better team than the Pels. The amount of good shots they generate is incredible. Not helped by the Pelicans defense but that is what the Jazz do in general.
The Pels need more creation like that. Joel and AD constantly commenting about the Jazz driving to pass, the Pels just lack that ability greatly.
The offense plays vastly better in pace than in that half-court offense we mostly use so far. BI is suffering from it, and Zion isn’t yet because he’s so dominant in the paint, but I think he can still get his buckets regardless on how we play
Honestly I think Lonzo is a significant issue. He is a zero on offense right now, he just gives you nothing. NAW and Kira are just giving you so much more in terms of getting into the defense and forcing rotations.

I can live with missing shots but the Pelicans just get so few quality looks from 3. If Lonzo, Hart, JJ, BI etc miss shots then you just have to live with it.

Ingram iso offense isn’t good right now. Bledsoe and Adams is playing worse every game. Zion is great offensively but his team defense is awful. JJ shot still isn’t going in. NAW is good but streaky. The pelicans half-court offense isn’t good, and the team should play with pace.
This team needs a lot of changes, but the first one has to be changing the pace of this team. This half-court offense is ruining this team and they play so much better when they’re allowed to run.
The Pelicans are far from a good team rn and SVG, and Griffin deserves some blame.

This team still is a working in progress, but Im afraid the roster was poorly built. In the starting 5 Ingran and Bledsoe are the only ones that can shoot.
From the bench NAW is the only one, but still is almost a rookie.
This team aint going nowhere without players than can shoot the 3, or even mid range shots.
