President Biden

The Thriller

It’s going to be soooooo nice to have a functional adult and a functioning federal government again. Having a leader actually deliver the news (good or bad) without always spinning to make himself look the best is so refreshing. I read today on CNN Biden is planning to use the Defense Protection Act to produce PPE and vaccines on a large scale basis. Something Donald didn’t want to use because he was too busy downplaying the seriousness of the pandemic

What are you hoping to see in Biden’s first 100 days? First two years?

I want children separated to be reunited with their families. What an unbelievable cruelty that has been. What a stain on our national character.

I want to progress on normalized relations with Cuba. I'd like to visit Cuba one day.

I want Russia to be called out for their outright attacks on the U.S. over the last 4 years. I'd like to see sanctions for their paid assassinations of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and their cyber attacks.

I'd like to see rational DPRK policies, not just the "scared straight" strategy that seemed more accidental based on Trump's unpredictability than any sort of thoughtful approach.

I'd like us to be a good ally to our good allies. NATO matters, and it matters far more than what each nation spends on defense, although that issue shouldn't be dropped. It should, however, be addressed for what it is and not as if NATO has dues like Mar A Logo.

We're getting left behind on Asian trade agreements. China is stepping in and filling our leadership role there. We need to have a seat at the table.

Whew, I could keep going...

What I hope continues...

China needs to be held accountable for currency manipulation and IP theft. This issue should have been addressed as far back as the Clinton administration. It took far too long for the U.S. to get serious with China. We need to stay on that but start doing so in a more cohesive way with careful coordination with our allies and other economic forces in Asia.

ACA should be reconsidered, but not by abolishing it with no plan to replace it.

DPRK shouldn't just be ignored and kept in a box. We do need to engage with them at all levels. The seal has been broken on that so let's keep it open.

The U.S.A. should be proud of who we are, but we should also be humble. We should also be proud of all of who we are, not just some narrow view of what makes us great.

PRNK? Are you meaning DPRK?

Biden should send out some tweets

Because he can

Yeah, and not have to listen to Babe. Can you believe he sent me a PM claiming that Pelosi and Schumer planned the attack on the Capitol so as to blame it on Trump. Can you believe that? Well, I sent him a nice volley of f-bombs. What a idiot.

I finally just put him on ignore. Mostly to protect myself from getting involved in a conversation with him.

I'll support Biden and my country with all my heart.

I'm alt right.
I literally have zero bad things to say about Biden but how dare I defend myself from being called alt right, racist and one who reads conservative news.

The only time I worried for the US was when Trump was president although I'd never deny my my privilege
You online complainers. Lol

Privilege.

That said, **** Trump and his dumb ****s. This isn't Nazi Germany and while I get people fought against that, too many thought Trump was Hitler.

Maybe read a book about privilege?

Go Biden! Something I'd never say for Trump nor ever did.
Biden did one that I overlooked.

Reversed the transgender ban in the military. None of the military chief's of staff wanted the ban. It was just spite and hate. I'm glad it's gone.

I'm not sure what you're saying (not informed enough on the subject) but I hope I'm interrupting it right.

Anyone, regardless of race, gender, sex, religion, political affiliation, education, should be denied to serve our country.

It should be based on physical and mental state/abilities alone.

You asked me the other day why it bothers me someone continuously calls me alt right and racist.

I'd hope of all people you'd understand, man.

Maybe you're giving me advice to ignore the nonsense but I'm not sure that's the case.

At the end of the day I know a few things.

1.) I sincerely want anyone to follow a path/belief/ideology that makes them feel happy and doesn’t hurt or force anyone else.
2.) Humans are young and dumb (I hope I don't need to explain this.)
3.) Life goes on.

You've always been a friend of mine even though I know we've disagreed on things. You've taught me things and gave me a perspective on something I wouldn't have ever have.

While others called me a bigot or tried to convince me that sexual orientation coincided with gender, I know you understand and we both learned to love and accept.

I'd like to think the world is better because of this and understand why others are ignorant. We're at our infancy, dude.

I disagree with your Facebook post but today is a good day. *fist bump*

I should also say I have a hard time articulating myself. I'm supportive and will always be supportive of your kid and respect his/her pronouns.

I shared a story on JazzFanz people questioned me on. I don't want to mention details but I feel you of all people understood.

Well, consider the source. Thriller is 1- as ultra partisan as anyone anywhere ever, and 2- someone who looks down on anyone who doesn't agree with him. So you'd be better simply explaining your point of view than spending most of your time saying "nuh-uh, I am not" more or less. Many people are reading what you post who aren't participating in the discussion. Most of them know you're not alt right. They are more likely to read and think about what you're saying if you just say what you think and leave out the pleading defense against a baseless attack. Fair enough to address his accusation, but at this point everything that needs to be said about that has been said.

As for what you quoted, Trump signed and executive order that barred all transgender people from serving in the military. I believe people already on active duty were able to finish their enlistment but not able to reenlist. His justification was that it was too expensive for the military to pay for treatments that Transgender people use. Military leaders told him they didn't need or want a transgender ban. He did it anyway. Biden eliminated that ban today.

This is one of the many reasons why this election mattered so much to me. I hear in comment sections people saying "I hope you're excited to pay $4-$5 for gas!" as if that is justification for keeping an incompetent, narcissistic, conspiracy peddling, criminal in the white house. I mean I get it, from a Trump-lovers perspective, it makes driving a jacked up truck covered in 20 Trump flags up and down the street as part of the trumptard parade a lot more expensive, I mean those flags create a lot of drag.

I'll say this, it is admirable how many people of color he has involved not only in his administration but in the festivities of the inauguration. Now, I'm a Bernie supporter and I do believe Bernie was cheated (ganged up on by the majority of the party among other things), but I think Biden has some basic goodness in him as shown by this gesture alone. I feel that he is genuine and glad we have a leader like him now. There's no telling what could have happened with four more years of Trump.
