I mean look at some of the deals he’s handed out over the years... several overpays. In some of the trades where we are not negotiating against a lot of suitors he gives the kitchen sink to get a deal done. Every player we signed this offseason got a player option. If we got a discount on any of those that’s okay to give an option but we were paying full sticker. Player options suck... only downside on those. Can you give us examples from the times you've been on the other side of the table from DL during negotiations?

Good question. Why not asking the Knicks, Pistons, Cavs GMs about it yourself? I wanna know every bit the details regarding deals on Tucker, Bradley and our 23rd pick, then get back to me when you find out. Thanks! Can you give us examples from the times you've been on the other side of the table from DL during negotiations?
You’re just seeing negotiating tactics at this point. The parties have barely shaken hands. And nothing about Orlando right now says, “Yeah, you definitely want to be here.”Murmurs in Orlando are saying that Otto Porter is staying with them rather than seeking a buyout.

he's not some all-star who only needs a ring to prove his case. He's taking his money.Murmurs in Orlando are saying that Otto Porter is staying with them rather than seeking a buyout.
He will assess the situation... if he can get out of his deal without giving back too much I think he will have his pick of many different good situations. If he says he's definitely seeking a buyout they may dig in for mo money. Slow play it a little. You’re just seeing negotiating tactics at this point. The parties have barely shaken hands. Bruh we got Matty Ice... we gonna run all small shooting guards... it gonna be lit AF.This was our opportunity to swing for the fences, we just have too many glaring weaknesses without any upgrades. Our window of opportunity with the older players are slowly closing

There are maybe ten other centers in the NBA who would not have a dreadful comparison with Gobert, and I don't think it's even that many. We don't get a Gobert to back up Gobert. Who in the league gets a positive Real Plus/Minus with Gobert on the other side of that? And anyone who watch Jazz ball will tell you that Favors isn't one of them. He's been rather underwhelming thus far and only reason it hasn't hurt the Jazz was because he played very few minutes. And our offensive/defensive ratings have been dreadful with him on the floor compared to Rudy.
Too risky. It's all on Brantley/Oni now.I think the Jazz would have needed to offer Bogdanovic, Royce O'Neale and a pick to Orlando to take back Aaron Gordon and another player (e.g., Aminu or Ross).
Wouldn't have been worth it unless you're totally sold on Aaron Gordon.
I wish we could’ve snagged Theis. He would’ve helped load manage Favors and Rudy during this stretch run and could’ve been a nice ingredient against Denver and the Lakers. There was no deal today that made me think "we could/should have done that". The Thomas trade is fine... hopefully we get some buyout love but I'm 90% sure this is our team.
I really like the Theis trade. We could have done it for our exception and saved Boston all $5 million of his salary. There was no deal today that made me think "we could/should have done that". The Thomas trade is fine... hopefully we get some buyout love but I'm 90% sure this is our team.
Great minds think alike. See aboveI wish we could’ve snagged Theis. He would’ve helped load manage Favors and Rudy during this stretch run and could’ve been a nice ingredient against Denver and the Lakers.
