That is false. Torrey Craig cracks the rotation of a Suns team who's made it to WCF and currently leading 1 to nothing. So "not nearly as good" won't be the word I use.

He also contributed to the Denver team that made a deep run last year. He doesn't play as many minutes because he shouldn't. Neither should Royce. I'd agree he's not nearly as good as mikal bridges but Royce isn't on that level either.

Yes, Jaden McDaniels is a better prospect than Royce and Oni and Jazz could have gotten him with their first draft last year. Or just buy a pick and grab Terance Mann in 2019. Come out every year. Not hard.

Georges was pretty spectacular (relative to expectations personally) this year in the regular season. I'm not a huge fan, but his ability to shoot and make the right decisions on offense and defense really does make the entire team better when he's on the court. He even really stepped it up on individual defense in a significant way.

He was OK in the Memphis series. He hit his shots which is his most important role at the end of the day, but he was complete *** in the Clippers series, to a degree that was super disappointing. Not that I expected magic, but the poor decision making was unexpected.

Should Utah re-sign him and what is your price limit? Or should Utah just look to move on and develop/sign someone else in the 9th man role who maybe has more athleticism?

I would expect his market to be somewhere in the 3-4 million dollar range per year.

I think you are overrated his regular. I would say he improved but he certainly wasn't spectacular. I am praying we do not re-sign him. He was completely exposed in the playoffs especially against the Clippers. He was so bad Quin even cut his minutes.

Overrating jazz players seems to be a regular trend. Guys like Niang won't survive past the end of bench had he played on any other team. And neither do I see a situation where Royce gets to play as many minutes as he's had on the Jazz if he was to go to another team.

I don't have a problem with the team keeping him, but they have too many slow, unathletic guys. Even if they are decent at defending on the ground. Of the current roster of those in the regular rotation, Niang would be the first on my list to go, but only if you can get a suitable replacement. Their cap limitations make it hard.

It also depends on what he can get in FA. I wouldn't give him more than a couple million. He's been too inconsistent to earn more IMO. He more than earned his salary for the year.

The Clips series showed this team what it is lacking, Niang is likely part of the unfortunate fallout, and likely he'll get a better offer somewhere else.

I'd keep him for the minimum. If he gets more he can leave. My only hesitance in keeping him is he needs to be a situational player and not a rotation staple in the playoffs. I think Quin would lean on him too much in the regular season and wouldn't give the time to groom a guy for the playoffs. Not saying a developmental player but a guy like Torrey Craig would be an upgrade in the playoffs once he was up to speed... in the regular season you can argue its a push.

Lol, there is absolutely ZERO dilemma with Niang. The ONLY bright side to the Jazz’s early ouster is that it hopefully got Niang out of a Jazz uni asap.

The dude had a few nice games shooting the 3 during the regular season, is unathletic as all hell, and showed serious deficiencies in the playoffs, plus what looked to me like a complete lack of hustle in the Clipper series.

We already know that our FO firmly believes that a Rudy-Donovan core is the way forward. That hamstrings the Jazz considerably and letting Niang walk should be embraced by the Jazz as one of the few ways this team can actually get better around the fringes this offseason.

There should be zero doubt in any Jazz fans minds, that the Jazz couldn’t let Niang walk for nothing, draft his replacement at the end of the 1st round, and come out of it better off. Now, whether the Jazz actually draft the right player is up for debate, but there’s gonna be 10 dudes on the board when the Jazz pick that will be a better fit for what this team needs.

The only place Niang belongs is in the rear view mirror.

Royce on his 25th or 26th minute is when he stop taking wide open shots and start getting cooked on defense cuz playing perimeter defense actual takes a lot of the energy away.

Royce still shot a ridiculously high percentage on 4th quarter 3's throughout the season.

I’d sign him but 3-4 seems a bit high. Very few teams have cap room. After the tier 1-3 guys are signed, there will be little money left. Teams, us included, will be much more prone to signing the Rudy Gays of the world to 2/14, or thereabouts, then Niang.

Make him an offer of 2/4.5. If he bolts, let him.

Like I noted, relative to expectations. If you asked most people prior to season they'd say Niang is a traffic cone and absolutely cant guard anyone.
