What's new

Following potential 2012 draftees

I watched most of the UNC game today. I have two main questions from thodays game. #1 How is Marshalls outside shooting? #2 How will Zeller fare against a team that can match his size? Today was too easy for him.

Marshall has no outside shot, as yet.
Zeller will be a decent backup in the NBA, nothing more.

I like them both, but they're both backups.

Just saw that Marshall had 15 assists tonight. For those of you who watched the game, was that because he could just dump it to the bigs and have them overpower the opponent? Was everyone's shots just falling? How did he accumulate all those assists?

UNC played no one. Having said that, Marshall is a very, very reliable passer and takes care of the ball pretty well. Someone (NCJazz, I believe) loosely compared him to Kidd .. bad comparison. Kidd is fast.

Haters be hating. Many teams have good players and play against cake walk smaller schools, I don't see their PG's getting 15 assist. Marshall is a monster. He has an ok outside shot. He shot 37% from deep last year, that is a decent rate.

I'm not hating and you know that. Where would you take Kendall is the upcoming draft?

I've spent about the last hour trying ot explain to my wife about the proposed CBA. The reason that I mentioned this si because there is one point of the CBA that would make me hesitant to sign it if I was a player, and that has to deal with Rookie compensation. Basically, any new rookies would take a 12% decrease in pay compared to the 2005 CBA.

I know that I am going to get a lot of people telling me that this does not belong in this thread, but here is my logic. A lot of the other portions in the CBA have a "waiting" period of 2 years, with revisions starting in year 3 of the new CBA. I can see the NBPA asking the same thing to be done in regards to rookie contracts. If that was to happen then the 2012 NBA draft would be the last time that players could get paid the current amount for Rookies. If that did happen then the 2012 NBA Draft might go down as a top 5 draft in NBA history. You most likely would not see players holding off entering the draft. We might just see multiple potential NBA starters drafted in the 2nd round. This could be a lot of fun.

Again, I know that when it comes to Jazz basketball I am an extreme optimist, but that is just how I am. I also thought that Jefferson was the missing center that the Jazz needed to get over the top. Boy was I wrong.

I'm in love with your wife for giving two ***** about the CBA. Way to go bro!

Love your optimism by the way .. and well thought out. We shall see how it all plays ..

Marshall will be doubted, just like Stockton was doubted.

Your hyperbole will be sorely missed while you dine on tons of crow. Hopson, Marshall, and may others have become your schtik ..luckily, for you, you're getting less daring .. Kendall is, in fact, a heck of a PG, at least.

Still missing it though.

I don't know about the hair, but I'm kinda digging the last name. We could call him Hopperson.

Unfortunately, he's already flopped .. sorta like his hair.

(by the way, Scotty had all-star talent, that will never even make a roster .. loser)

That list failed hard when it said this is not a good haircut
