It's pretty odd you took it to that level. I NEVER threatened you or meant anything bad. I was simply going to point out that a fork lift driver doesn't make a ton of money so it'd be easy for someone like that to demand others to pay more to help the less fortunate.

Typically Operators start in the wearhouse and there are a few different jobs within the wearhouse but most involve driving a stand-up forklift.

But within a year you can usually move from the wearhouse to the packaging floor where you would operate a packaging line. They make more than $20 on the packaging floor.

I can give an even more specific answer if you'd like.

Not looking for a job because you have money to fall back on...for a while.

Like I said, I was at a low.

You might have missed the whole family history of people killing themselves. My father's younger brother killed himself around this time as well.

My sister has made several very serious suicide attempts that she was saved from because someone was int he right place at the right time, against the odds, to save her. She's much better now and has been for a long time. But I have a family history of depression and suicide.

For the record I have never made the slightest attempt at suicide. Only one in my immediate family who can say that. I'm also the only one who has never been on anti-depressants. The only one who has not undergone significant mental therapy.

But regardless, I was not happy. I was not healthy. I was not fit for employment.

I'm very sure depression is hard for people who have not been seriously depressed to understand. I'm sure it's easy to assume it's about having a defeatist attitude, being lazy, etc.

Whatever.

And once you've had a gap in employment you are almost immediately eliminated as a candidate for anything resembling a good position in any sort of professional field.

I eventually took a job as a security guard at a mall.

After that Fishonjazz gave me a referral to the place he works. I started there as a forklift driver. Within two months I moved from that position to the highest paid hourly position at that facility as an automated (robotic) equipment mechanic. I will be in Fishonjazz's debt for a long time. He gave me the opportunity I needed to change my life and be where I am now. I consider Fishonjazz a friend. And even if he said I wasn't his friend I wouldn't care. When he had an opportunity to help me he didn't make a public announcement of how awesome he was and how easily he could help me and then not do a damn thing. He helped me.

I can't find the post I want but I do have a good memory.

Speaking of the jobs there are literally help wanted signs plastered everywhere. At my job there's a massive email between all different hardware stores where managers can communicate about certain issues and one of the most popular strings is managers trying to find good workers.

Jobs are not being created. They are just being filled mostly in part to the cutoff of funding and people being forces back to work. Which is nice, no doubt but misleading.. Keep this in mind too from CNN

I found JazzyFresh's "memory" to be pretty oddly specific about very obscure facts.

I was legit creeped out. That may have something to do with the fact that I've been binging true crime youtubes (see the youtube rec thread). As I sit here right now I'm not particularly concerned that Jazzy means me actual harm IRL. I'm not completely NOT concerned though.

I found it interesting that he linked to me being a bit too open about my family history, the death of my father, my mother and the mental health issues I've been surrounded by my entire life. He called me a forklift driver because I mentioned doing that for two months and then moving back into something much more aligned with my professional background. Never have I (to my knowledge) talked extensively about driving a forklift for two months without also talking about what that opportunity lead to. It really did strike me as odd that he would key in on that and remember it from a thread from a pretty damn long time ago.

Anyway. Just wanted to update.
