Following potential 2012 draftees

Cy: Congrat$ on your win. How do you think you'll fare against Arizona?

By the way, Sidney is an embarrassment.

I am not trying to play devils advocate here, I genuinely want to know. Is Marshalls effectiveness as a passer do to the fact that at any given point in a game he has threats like Barnes, Zeller, Henson or Macadoo to pass to, and that opposing defenses are more concerned with everyone else? I have watched him play in two games this year so far and he seems to have a good passing ability. I only say good because it doesn't seem like he has a lot of pressure from defenders on him. If I was a coach that was about to play UNC, I would put my best defender on Marshall because when Marshall is not getting open passes, or is on the bench, the offense seems to slow down quite a bit. Thoughts?

We will beat them I think. I don't see anything special about Arizona.

Sidney had a terrible game offensively (it was a good sign he was able to get good looks, he just has to finish now), but he was actually quite good on defense. They kept trying to post him up, but he is an unmovable force on the low block.

I thought his total defense was not good at all. He doesn't get back on defense, he doesn't go hard for the defensive boards, but he did have a couple good plays on D. He's just too out of shape. Being asked to come out after, what, 10 minutes and then behind the huddle puking his guts out .. disturbing for a future NBA player. I like the rest of the guys, though.

1. I think Marshall has a body of work that suggests he is, in fact, a very good passer.
2. I think you're right on about putting your best defender on the PG. Most coaches seem to put their best on the best scorer and I've never really understood that. I guarantee you, on December 3rd, Marshall will be getting out best, as Calipari understands the PG is the head that needs to be chopped off.

When Cal put Kidd-Gilhcrist on Kansas' Tyshawn Taylor, we suddenly went on (about) a 17 - 2 run. Not rocket science.

For some reason the only play I can remember is him ripping the ball from Turner's hands in the post like Turner was a little kid. Maybe that is why I think he did good. Excited to see Sidney destroy Jones when we play UK.

I do remember that. That is the why I was salivating over the thought of K-G on the Jazz guarding Durant, Kobe, Westbrook or any number of great scorers on opposing teams.

Take a look at some of the highlights and Youtube vids. You'll see he's one of the most gifted passers in a long time--up there with college players like Kidd, Chris Paul, D.Will, etc.

Wow, those are some lofty names. I will have to keep a closer eye on him. I still don't know about his shot, but maybe that is because he doesn't shoot it much.

I think comparing Kendall those players is a little unfair to Kendall. I will say that I would liken him more to DWill than the others. Also, people seem to conveniently forget what kind of shooters Kidd and Nash became. :)

He was comparing their PASSING only.

MSU looking better than I expected .. good to see. Refs hating on Moultrie and trying to let Az get the win. Punch'm Sidney .. then you can sit out the rest of the game!
