If that is the goal, they would've kept Thomas who is Niang's college mate. Both are DL's guys so frankly this points to the opposite, if I'm Niang I should be looking to find a job elsewhere, even if it's in Europe or China.

it's just a repeat of Rayjon Tucker from last season. Second round pick for half year rental of a guy who rarely plays. Typical Dennis Lindsey for you.

Jazz could have drafted Filip Petrusev, Scottie Lewis or Sandro Mamukelashvili with that pick.

Either way, Elijah Hughes is a better overall player. Thomas is a good shooter, but several things have to happen in order for him to get his shot off.

Niang isn't a NBA player. He was just made to look like one thanks to DL's scheme. He would get exposed more once he does sign with another NBA team.

I go back to two years ago when Bradley had his coming out party in Summer League. The 2nd and 3rd best players on that team were Willie Reed and George King. Suddenly DL goes on an ether binge and Jeff Green, Ed Davis, Stanton Kidd, NWG and William Howard are signed, Reed and King walk away, Raul Neto is not resigned, Jeff Green gets waived midseason, Rayjohn Tucker get's signed and then we pay teams to take Bradley, Davis and Tucker off our hands and then expend a draft pick for Matty Ice and then pay a first round draft pick to take Favors off our hands. Where do I sign up to be GM. Even I couldn't screw things up this badly.

People were pretty universally excited about Ed Davis and Jeff Green, but the rest made no sense.

People talking about adding a small ball 5 gives me shades of Ed Davis. We saw how well a small ball five worked when Rudy was out. The bigger problem is we can’t guard a chair on the perimeter.

There are almost always messes at the end of the year. Some can be easily anticipated, some less so.
