Coronavirus

I think that if someone who is unvaccinated by choice shows up at a hospital with covid and wants treatment that the medical staff should be like

One way you could tell that cuomo didn't think his handling was perfect is that he wasn't throwing people with covid into nursing homes in the later parts of last year right? He made a huge huge huge mistake at the beginning of the pandemic. If he thought that huge mistake was actually the correct way to do things then he probably would not have stopped doing things that way.

didn't he write a book about how ace he handled it ?? And deflected responsibility ? When even early on it was clear it affected elderly / frail people disproportionally ?

Lol absolutely brilliant.

Bills' Cole Beasley, unvaccinated, forced to quarantine after testing negative for COVID — because he came in contact with fully vaccinated trainer who had the virus

Pretty darn darn good response.
I'm betting if Cuomo could do it over again he would do it different.
Desantis on the other hand..........

New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) acknowledged Wednesday that an additional 12,000 COVID-19 deaths occurred during the Cuomo administration than were previously reported by the state.

I am in agreement here with you in terms of different states have different methodologies for calculating deaths and it’s quite silly.

Cuomo is the kind of skeezeball to bury that so I do applaud the new governor for being transparent, but wish we had better unified standards as I think more states have underreported numbers.

Failure at having National standards is huge for our country. It’s one of the many reason why we need a national health care system, not this fractured one that we currently have.

I have zero doubt that places like Florida are underreported. As NY has shown, not out of the realm of possibility that tens of thousands of deaths could be underrepresented.

Crazy to think about really.

supporting 1 political parasite over another political parasite is truly the theatre of the bizarre

It's looking more and more like the vaccinated are the super spreaders and all the vaccine did, (remember we were at 8000 cases a day before you super spreaders got vaccinated) was provide a host to mutate. Modern day slaves that'll give away everything over a shot that barely works. Why are cases spiking here the more people get vaccinated? Why can't none of you so called geniuses answer me on that? Because you know the truth.

JERUSALEM—The massive surge of COVID-19 infections in Israel, one of the most vaccinated countries on earth, is pointing to a complicated path ahead for America.

June, there were several days with zero new COVID infections in Israel. The country launched its national vaccination campaign in December last year and has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, with 80 percent of citizens above the age of 12 fully inoculated. COVID, most Israelis thought, had been defeated. All restrictions were lifted and Israelis went back to crowded partying and praying in mask-free venues.

It is because I know the truth. The peak of this wave Delta fueled wave, which is already on the downtrend in southern states like Florida, is far less than the winter spike thanks to the vaccine. Your observations have causation backwards. More people are getting vaccinated because cases are spiking.

Cases started spiking as more got vaccinated. Cases should be diminishing not skyrocketing. Florida simply hit it's peak.

Perfectly coincides with the availability of the vaccine to everyone.

Did you read my article about Israel being the most vaccinated yet going through a spike?

No, because Israel isn't the most vaccinated. Iceland is the most vaccinated and they haven't has a single death since May. Israel is spiking because it is freaking hot there and everyone is indoors where COVID thrives instead of outdoors like the Icelanders are this time of year.

I've never said the vaccine will prevent COVID infections although it does significantly raise your resistance to infection. What the vaccine does is spin up your immune system so that it can fight COVID off if and when you encounter it.

dude you're either being deliberately disingenuous or you just can't be bothered. I'm for vaccines BUT this is on the Australia Governments drug regulatory body's own website. Yes very very tiny percentages but these are the numbers that the government has confirmed themselves as having been specifically caused by taking Astrazenica vaccine. And there are 61 cases of GB syndrome confirmed, 66 cases of myocarditis/pericarditis. They also list 303 cases of death "following" having taken a vaccine without any specific cause of death being linked / confirmed.

So yes vaccines are very important. But to say they're totally safe and 100 % harmless is just not accurate. Like any medication there is always a risk / reward scenario to weigh up which of course in this pandemic is heavily in favor of a majority of people being vaccinated.

For people who think everyone get vaccinated and the pandemic will be over ... you're taking some other kind of drug.

Deaths related to TTS

Sadly, this week we were notified that two confirmed cases of TTS after the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine were fatal. One was in a 44-year-old man from Tasmania and the other was in a 48-year-old women from Victoria (this case was reported as probable TTS in last week’s report). The TGA extends its sincerest condolences to their families and loved ones.
Since the beginning of the vaccine rollout in Australia, a total of five deaths from TTS have been reported out of 6.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. All of them were related to a first dose of the vaccine.

TTS cases to date

Since last week’s report, a further four reports of blood clots and low blood platelets have been assessed as confirmed or probable TTS likely to be linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine (Table 1).
Table 1: Newly confirmed and probable TTS cases for the week of 16-22 July 2021‡
New confirmed TTSNew probable TTS
One new case:
  • 44-year-old man from Tasmania
Three new cases:
  • 76 and 77-year-old men and a 79-year-old woman from NSW
As previously reported, the TGA determines whether a report is likely to represent TTS by assessing cases against accepted criteria established by the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.
One case reported last week as probable was reclassified to confirmed. This takes the total Australian reports assessed as TTS following the AstraZeneca vaccine to 87 cases (53 confirmed, 34 probable) from approximately 6.1 million vaccine doses.
Sorry, you guys are using AZ vaccine which was suspended or not approved for use in numerous countries because of side effects and few unfortunate deaths reported. Yes, I am very well aware of possible vaccine side effects and even deaths - yet risks of dying from vaccine ( even AZ) is so minuscule compared to benefits that it is not even worth discussing. Smoking and birth control pills for example have thousands time higher risk for developing blood clots than getting it from vaccine - yet people somehow freak out about few cases from vaccine.

So... When does it go away? When does the vaccine stop the spread which it isn't going at all?
