What's new

The Jazz dudes are returning.....

Even if he did call, then shame on Harris' supporting cast. They need to be here imo. That is, unless they want to be just another run of the mill team. And just because these players aren't in town doesn't mean they likely couldn't have been. They knew about this for a week or so now and could've shelled out their own money for a plane ticket to SLC to ensure the team maximized their training camp time to gel, not remain on their own "working out at other places" as you state. And charities? Really? Puh-lease.

I'm probably in the minority here but sorry, I want a ring so to speak. I'd hope they would too.

I feel exactly the same way, I would have liked to hear that the whole team was lined up outside at 5 AM waiting for someone to unlock the doors and let them in. I know that's what I would do if I was in their place, maybe I'm just old fashioned. *shrug*

It's entirely possible the players got word from the FO that trades are possible and that they'd prefer they DIDN'T run any full-contact scrimmages until camp opens.

I'd suggest you drink some kava tea and take an Ambien.

LOL; what other NBA facility would Ronnie Price go to for a workout? I'd be VERY surprised if he returns assuming Burks stays healthy and shows ANYTHING good in camp...

Love how fans think these players should have no obligations other than basketball. Can't spend time with family or even their charities. Some of you guys need to seriously wake up realize this is not that big of a deal and a lot of teams like the Mavs for example didn't do anything crazy before preseason.

lol... they both sucked, I can't remember which Boler called that.

It was Palacio. I only remember because someone (who posted on realgm at the time but could very well post here too, maybe it was Prodigy) made a Milt Palacio mix tape and the first thing on it was some doufus holding up a Captain Crunch cereal box on a stick.

Except they'd already proven something by winning it all and have a well-seasoned team who's been playing together for years in place. Not even close to the same.

People still ragged on them hard for not meeting up in the off-season as early as possible. Yes, I understand we are not as good as the Packers, but instead of a period of not meeting for months (like the Packers did) we aren't meeting for a couple of days. The ratio of skill to days waited before meeting balances out.

By my count, there's one person that's up in arms, and then there's me hoping a little more than the minimum from players. Whatever.

All facilities were open to all players, so Blake at Blazers no big deal, similar with Price at Jazz.

As far as Devin goes, I was impressed that Devin 1-showed up early to town and early to work out. 2- He was willing to talk with the media. 3- He said the right things.

Wasn't he only there because he was house hunting or something? I'm always skeptical when someone says "the right things".. I'd rather he does his "talking" on the court...

I'd rather see Earl running our offense any day of the week.. he's composed, not erratic and runs the plays well. We need a cool, calm head at the helm this year with all the rookies we have coming on board..

Just MHO tho..

The jazz are not the only team who is doing this. If some of you think them all getting together will win them a ring are crazy. Jazz have no shot in hell winning a ring despite what they do this year.

Is anyone finding it interesting that Devin Harris is finding a home? I feel like the Jazz might have confirmed with him that hell probably be staying here for at least the season, if not longer. Maybe Im just looking too much into it, though.
Why would Devin be looking for a home before the lockout ended? He was traded late last year to the Jazz. Obviously, he does not make his offseason home in Utah. So he's looking for a half-year rental.

Yeah. If he'd come here and just started sleeping beneath a tree in Pioneer Park you would know he saw this as a very short term deal. I bet he was relieved when the Jazz said, "You ought to find a warm place to sleep while you're here."

It ticks me off that there wasn't a WalMart style Black Friday trampling. How come average housewives can be so much more committed to saving on Christmas than these guys are to their careers?

I think the Jazz are in a pretty good spot. Our good veteran players Harris, Millsap and Jefferson all are very motivated. We have a bunch of talented, hungry rookies. Let's see how this thing plays out.

Couldn't agree more. Our problems last year were more systemic than talent based. If Ty can keep a firm rudder on playing together offensively and defensively, we're going to surprise a lot of people with the team we already have.

Players just don't get it do they:

tribjazz Brian T. Smith #UtahJazz open media session over. No players showed today. Paul Millsap and Ronnie Price were at PF before press arrived. (Smart guys.)

Lock-out didn't exactly go well for the players or the league, I thought the players would be a little more willing to reach out to the consumers and get some positive pr. The players all want more money, but won't take 5 minutes to give the beat-writers and TV guys a quote? Thats free advertising that most businesses would die for, and a wasted opportunity for players to sale themselves to a Utah fan base....

Maybe they had stuff to do and couldn't wait for the media to arrive. People have schedules.

Millsap talked to the press yesterday. What new news does he have?

Ronnie Price isn't on the team and probably doesn't want to speculate on where he might end up.

I think it is surprising that players talk to the media as much as they do. More than 90% of questions are leading, stupid, repetitive, and/or obvious. What is Millsap gonna say today that he didn't say yesterday or the day before? "yeah, I can play two positions. yeah, I'm motivated. yeah, I worked out. No, I'm not paying attention to the trade rumors."

What's Ronnie gonna say? Who wants to see him beg for his job? Not me.
