On Sportscenter they reported that the Heat are going to land 1 of 3...

Nene, Tayshaun, or Battier...

First off, how the hell do they have any money?

Second, who would you want them to sign (because obviously we want Miami to fail)?

Third, who do you think they'll end up with?

They're smart. And fortunate.

1) They still have the MLE. All of this hooing and hawing about LT payers, other system issues, and BRI, do NOTHING to prevent a team like the Heat or Knicks from forming or becoming better (since they made their moves with cap space leverage [even though the Knicks probably wouldn't have had enough to get Carmelo, but the league allowed extend and trades to continue]). Not really enough for a marquee player, but impact players don't always have to be stars.
2) I hope they find a way to grab Rondo. Watching him, Wade, and Lebron not know how to do anything without the ball and not be able to spread the floor would be nothing short of glorious.
3) They need a C. Really bad. Dalembert makes a lot of sense for them but they also need to fill out the rest of their roster. I doubt Nene takes that kind of paycut to play there, but Prince would be a nice get for them and I could see it happen. Battier's getting kind of old, spending the FULL MLE seems unwise, but maybe they spend half of it and another half on another nice player.

Don't see them getting Nene. Seems like he would go to the most money because this might be his last big contract.

Prince, possible.

Battier, most likely.
 
Battier and Prince wouldn't even start for Miami. They are much more likely to be looking to get a better C.
