Dononvan Mitchell is Trash

It doesn't matter if he was right. He had no business going to the media to complain about his teammates. That's sports 101. You don't do that crap.

There is no proof to your "leaking to the media" stuff. And have you ever seen even a "leaked" media story where Donovan complains that Rudy can't catch a simple pass? Or he can't score outside of 3 feet? No, because even BS leaked Donovan Mitchell stuff doesn't contain personal attacks.
Yeah but you don't know that he hadn't already been preaching it behind closed doors and watching it fall on deaf ears, nor for how long that may be. We could have just seen the boil-over as watching the games the lack of D became so much more obvious to him (and the entire world with a record terrible DRTG) than when he was playing and just frustrated that he seemed to be the only one that cared on D. We have no idea what is really going on in the locker room so there is no way to assign blame in any of this. It may have been a bad move, but maybe not as bad as some would have us believe.

Why? Him wearing street clothes is when the awful truth of this team's lack of defensive effort is exposed for what it is; total ***.

I'm not a fan of the call-out myself, but it's a little different when he's also 100% correct.

The message was obvious truth, but I just thought it was a little weak to call out the team at a moment when you weren't able to play. Could've just waited a week and said the exact same thing.

I just wish Rudy would've spoken up when he was actually playing opposed to wearing street clothes.
So you were in the locker room and all the huddles this whole season, and all these years? Tell us more? Does Rudy shave all his body hair? You are the ultimate inside source apparently, give us the goods!

Not sure what you're getting at here, but I'm only talking about when Rudy wanted us to be more like the Suns citing Devin Booker. He was in COVID protocol criticizing the team. I just didn't like the timing of that.

I don't know if he's speaking up or not speaking up behind closed doors. Just talking about this single incident.

I like how y'all are excusing Rudy for going public to complain about teammates

BUT

you are outraged that Donovan supposedly leaks that he's unhappy.

It's amazing how you guys have completely lost the ability to use common logic. And once again, go watch a playoff game to see who plays hard and who plays effective playoff basketball.

You are implying he never said anything to the team in private and chose to only attack in the most public way possible. You have no idea what he may have already said to all of them behind closed doors, and yes that does matter. It might have been a bad look but it also might have been his last-gasp effort to get the message across they refused to listen to already.

In regards to Rudys comments, anyone who's covering their coworkers mistakes on an every day basis and then getting blamed for the loss of a contract is going to speak up. I'm certain he tried to do it in house but the team didn't respond like they probably should, so he called them out. The Booker comment was probably too obvious, but also there was a lot of truth in it. Honestly, I don't blame Rudy after he was basically blamed for last year's collapse and he was the only one giving 100% effort on the defensive side.
If the coaching and management were holding people accountable we never would have gotten here.
This. The people truly at fault are those happiest to see everyone fighting about Rudy vs. Donovan. This is a management and leadership failure but they're more than happy to blame "aww shucks, the two stars just can't get along." It's a repeat of Greg Miller and KOC's ******** that ended up exploding in our face, with a convenient public debate as to whether Jerry or Deron were at fault.

It doesn't matter if it's his first attempt or last attempt. You don't complain about your teammates in the media. You especially don't use individual examples of guys on other teams who are trying so hard while you are bashing your teammates in public.

I have been saying this for years - Rudy annoys the ever living **** out of people. Other teams and fanbases can't stand him. Would it be shocking that he annoys his teammates and they have stopped trying because they are over him?

No I wasn't implying anything. I was talking about a one single incident when Rudy spoke to the media and I didn't care for how he did it.

Does logic equal constant goal post moving and apologizing for Mitchell at all cost? Are you Ryan Smith's burner?

Why would other players or fanbases like Rudy? Give me one reason that doesn't say more about them and their frustrations.

This is an argument with less than 0 merit. Gobert's entire existence is stop the opposition with as little flash as possible. He's the best in the NBA at it, and it bears out both in advanced stats and the dumbest, most important metric: wins and losses.

Nobody has moved the goalposts Cy.

Rudy is the only Jazz player that has gone public to criticize a Jazz player.
Rudy did what was right. You're just mad he is right and he did it to your golden child. Take the planter's out of your mouth.

Good point. Somebody mentioned something like this earlier so let me rephrase.

I don't think other fanbases, other players, and neutral people are fans of how plays, really respect how he plays, and like him as player. Of course this is all speculation.

I live in TN and I talk to basketball fans all the time who have zero investment into our Jazz. They think Rudy is lame, overrated, not impactful in the playoffs, etc. etc. I argue on Rudy's behalf all the time, but the opinion is there. Maybe it started with the crying incident and won't shake, but...

Rudy should have never gone out and thrown his teammates under the bus by saying Devin Booker tries harder.

Every single person knows that's not what you should do.
