Can We Just Flipping Sign House Please!

I hope you are correct but the tidbits I hear makes me wonder if that is the case. I wont be surprised if he is done with the Jazz which is disappointing.
Sorry I meant just coming back from the injury period. No idea about where.

Really can't understand why people are upset over the Inlges trade. He was done for the remainder of his contract, and he had severely declined before that. They got a young asset that could provide some roster flexibility or end up being a piece in some way, when we have to shake up this team in the off season and make some serious trades. Ingles contract was expiring, and his bird rights are near worthless as an asset. We got what we could for an extremely stressed asset. I love Ingles and am grateful for everything he did for the team, would love to see him come back on a minimum, but the team has gotten much better since giving House his minutes. Can't let emotion get in the way of this if you're trying to win--that's what Ainge understands. You maximize your assets. That's the game. If he doesn't come back it won't cost the franchise anything, fans will just be butthurt.

I hate it because it was done as a salary move but was a horrible salary move. We shaved $3M off the books in exchange for adding $5M next year, which will facilitate us making yet another salary move with basketball consequences. Ingles was done for the year but we lost our best locker room presence and two second round picks in exchange for short-term financial relief at the cost of a much worse financial picture next year.

If people want to say let’s wait and see what happens with NAW before we judge this trade, then fine. I’d counter by saying let’s also wait and see what his $5M salary costs us next year before we judge the deal, because it wasn’t just Ingles and two second round picks. We’ll be dumping another player and/or asset to take his cap hit.

We took the balance from one credit card and paid it off with another credit card with a promotional interest rate for 6 months… we will totally pay it off before the super punitive interest rate kicks in.

If the team fails in the playoffs it gives them a chance to do big trades… they will live all the players they get in the trade… and none of the trades will be about money so just ignore the fact that we cut salary by 10-15M doing “all in” “win now” moves.

Perfect analogy. We had a balance of 10k on a card with a 12% interest rate. We did a transfer of balance to another card for a 1k fee but we don’t have any interest or payments for 6 months. After that it’s 18%.

Genius move.

Get out of infections lane bruh

To me acquiring a piece like NAW tells me they are preparing to trade other players this offseason. I do not think they are going to run this team back a third year, short of winning a tite. I think he's a piece that they can flip, or a cheap piece that might be able to step up and fill a role if say a Clarkson got traded. But you're right. There's no judging this trade until we see how things shake out this offseason.

This is how I feel about it. And it’s not even just through the off season. But clear up to the next trade deadline. We have no idea how the roster is going to look or what our cap situation is going to be. But fact is this roster needed to find a way to get younger with no real draft assets to do it for the time when this current roster gets broken up. Getting Pascall and NAW along with Forrest’s up tick at least gives us a start on that.

I actually did this with a credit card years ago. It worked out great. I was able to pay off the balance in that no interest time and then never used the card again. Saved me a lot of money. And the Jazz have a whole year (until the next trade dead line) to figure it out.
