What's new

Does anyone still like this team?

Rudy's comments always come off as sincere. A stark contrast to Donovan.
I think Donovan is sincere too... I think Rudy is transparent and sincere. Sometimes some things need to be said... sometimes you should keep it to yourself. Nothing Rudy has said recently crossed that line and Quin is a diaper baby.

I mean Rudy got two cheap shots last night and his coach doesn't demand a replay review. The first was whatever... the second was a high headshot, no play on the ball, with him in the air. Quin didn't want to get too pissy with Westbrook though because he gonna be his coach next year.

Rudy is a smart, blunt, genuine dude. I wish the world had more of those types.
I agree... the only time I had a small issue was when he clearly mentioned Devin Booker knowing it would be viewed as a direct shot at one dude when our defensive issues are not just about Donovan. Otherwise if guys suck and the ball sticks... go ahead and say it... just don't point at one person.

Tim MacMahon adamant on Zach Lowes podcast today that Donovan is not staying, so trading Rudy and building around Donovan is not a real viable option. This summer, it’s time to trade Donovan. More and more clear every day.

IF, IF Donovan definitely wants to leave no matter what, we have to trade him.

It's time to go scorched earth. If he doesn't want out now... he will once we struggle next year. Rudy and Donovan taking turns giving shots out in the post game pressers... its just over.

In the same pod... Zach brings up that there will be space for a team that wants to tank to the bottom... I know that doesn't get everyone excited but when we tanked one season for Exum there was a huge tank off. We can be effective in getting our way to the bottom... get a top 5 pick this year through trade. Tank two years... you will find some stars.

They'll have a chance, but nothing is guaranteed.

Just do it though. Squeeze Donovan for every penny and send him to the *****osue Knicks then give Gobert to the Mavs so he can dominate the next 3 years with Luka.

And Tim McMahon said EXACTLY what I have been saying... "if you trade one then you trade both".

Don't **** around with half hearted re-tool projects. Go all in and tear it down. Its a fools errand to try and "make Donovan happy"... you will cost yourself so much and it won't be fun.

If we are trying to stay relevant I actually think you could thread the needle with Donovan better than Rudy... what I mean... say NOP land the 4th pick... would they do CJ/4 and another future pick for Donovan?

I just think the real benefit of doing the scorched earth approach is you get future facing assets for Rudy, you get a lotto pick next year, you get a premium for Donovan with 3 years left on his deal, and all the spare parts net you some draft capital. You give yourself such a huge jump start and starting at year 0 you can build without some of the current constraints.

If Donovan wants to stay, you don't trade him. It's that simple. I really don't think there is a conversation.
