What's new

Let's blow this muther F'r up!!!!

His defense was....... poor. He had some awesome post moves though which was counter acted by his black-holi-ness
The biggest problem is his and Williams skill sets didn’t mesh all that well Al wasn’t a rim roller at all, and needed to be fed in the post. While Deron was a pickn’roll pg.

I'm starting this thread because I think this is the general thought process here. I wanted to make a thread for it because it needs to happen. I really hope the Jazz are starting to realize that Donovan will not ever be happy. Not here or anywhere probably. May be an unfair assessment but hey that's the way some people are. Insatiable thirst.....
Is there a possibility Ainge can see through the shenanigans?
Can Ryan finally look himself in the mirror and say.. Man this guy "jest" is not the cool guy I want representing the Jazz.

Anything besides this crazy media garbage we as fans have been putting up with would be nice. I've been watching the Jazz religiously since the age of 6 and that was over 30 years ago and I can honestly say that this **** show supersedes the Sloan/Williams, The Larry and Karl drama, the Haywood shenanigans, the Ty Corbin Middle ages, and the down slide of DL and his talent decisions.
I think you forgot how miserable the Corbin era was

I think you forgot how miserable the Corbin era was

This is a bit of historic revisionism. Corbin was only here for 3 full years and the first two years, the team had a winning record and a bunch of young players we were generally excited about.

Sure, in hindsight it was all a bit of a disaster, but you can go back and read forum posts around 2012 and it wasn't all doom and gloom. I remember being excited about the team, Corbin notwithstanding. Not like many of us expected him to last more than a couple of year, and there were generally positive vibes early on about the long term potential.

But yeah, we had Freedom who was 19, Burks and Favors were 20, Hayward was 21. Even Miles was only 24 and occasionally dropping 40-point games that made us all think he'd actually amount to something. Jefferson and Millsap were 27 and 26 as well. Sure, the board argued endlessly over whether those two were part of long term plans, but none of us expected our management to be so idiotic as to let them both walk away for free. Jefferson, of course, was All-NBA within 9 months of leaving, and Millsap was at the ASG. I feel like if we had gotten some kind of value for them(at least picks, for crying out loud), we might now look differently at those few years.

I agree with the post concern. The biggest mistake we may is to expect Don will carry the team and stay here for much longer . He will move for a bigger market in one or 2 years. Only 2 options then :
- Expect to win in the next 2 years with the more/less same team. Kind of miracle..
- Start the move right now and trade our biggest asset. In other case we may loose 2 years...

We may know soon what strategy they choose.

This and he needed shooters around him to kick out to. Having AK, Millsap, Favors at times and other bad shooters next to him was a disaster. He kicked it out but it did nothing if they cant shoot. He would have been solid with better coaching and 4 shooters around him. When we had him he has to be built around but I am not sure that is good enough to go very far in the playoffs. He is perfect in the big man off the bench role though. He was guaranteed points against backups especially if the guy dumping it down to him can actually shoot when it gets kicked back out.

I think the best way to accelerate the rebuild would be something like:

3 team deal:
Hawks receive: Rudy | Hornets receive: Capela | Jazz receive: Hunter, Okongwu, Gallo (expiring), #13, #16

Move Don:
Jazz receive: Barrett, Toppin, Grimes, #11, 2024 1st (top 5 protected) | Knicks receive: Donovan

Move Mike:
Jazz receive: Graham, Nance Jr, #8 | Pelicans receive: Conley, #13

Would give us Barrett, Toppin, Okongwu, Hunter, #8, #11, and #16 to revamp the roster.

We should do this...

The NY deal would be a good one to snag I think. In the event of a rebuild I really feel like making the trade with a team like NY who isn’t doing so great now, and after being stripped of most their young talent, which may result in lottery picks is better than a trade with a team like Miami where the picks will likely resulting in the 20’s.
