Trade Rumors Involving the Jazz

Chicago is likely more willing to go all in with Gobert than Atlanta. We may be able to get all of that plus their 2029 1st on top if we played our cards right. That is a **** ton though so maybe not.
Chicago would be a contender if they traded for Rudy without sacrificing much talent. Vuc, Williams and lots of picks keeps their roster intact.

For us, we get a player for the long term and lots of picks. Vuc is a solid starting expiring center. Also, this trade gets us almost out of the luxury.

I don't love it, but it ain't bad

I’m just not sure how much more or what else people expect value wise? As a win now move I would prefer Collins/Capela/Hunter if that’s even available then Anunoby/Trent then the Chicago deal. Long-term the Chicago deal may be the most valuable.

Bro, you can’t have a contender with Gobert.

There will be much better offers. Hell I’d probably do a Gobert for Ayton swap myself.
The reason they want to move Ayton is so they don't have to max him out and avoid the luxury tax. Why would they take on Gobert who is way more expensive than Ayton?

The two most realistic offers they'll have are Jerami Grant or Myles Turner

The reason they are moving on from Ayton is hardly due to money. There is some extra curricular stuff going on there.

They could add salary with Ayton but this is all worthless anyways because we won’t be taking someone back in a sign-and-trade due to becoming hard capped.

The Suns owner is notoriously cheap and they'd pay like $63M in luxury tax fees if they extend Ayton on a max...

I think all 3 trades are better than staying put. I have serious concerns in our new coach getting exactly the same level out of Rudy. We know Rudy is good, but does a new system make him look less dominant and thus make him less valuable?

The time to trade him is now.

If it was truly about money why wouldn’t they re-sign him and trade a worse player to get under the luxury tax?

If they extend Ayton they'd be sitting at $160M in salary cap while someone like Myles Turner or Vuc would put them under the tax line...

They'd have to trade two of Crowder, Saric, Payne, Shamet, or Johnson while taking $0 back to get under the tax.

Which is why I think it will be Bryant or Jensen, two coaches that have coached Rudy before.

Right.. and the luxury tax is right at 149M.

Would you rather call up OKC and offer a pick to take Saric’s contract off your hands and duck the tax or trade Ayton for a worse player like Turner or Vucevic?

Basically Ayton minus a pick vs Vucevic or Turner.. not really close in my opinion.. which is why it’s more than just the money my man.
